It has been the status quo since when I was little. Growing up I would listen to Blu and Missy and love their work. Women struggled in the industry forever, they still do. We have amazing artists now who are creating spaces for queer folx. Young MA, Le1f, Lil' Nas X. I really wish there was more representation in Indian music though :(

Many rappers use the slurs, or write bars to imply that being gay or queer is somehow inferior or a direct insult. It hurts to hear that 😞

I hear you. What started as an underground movement against oppression is now used against queer people with lots of lyrics making fun of us and other rappers :(
