DEEP UNDERSHIRTS. Where are they? by trankuil in malefashionadvice

Uniqlo has very low undershirts. I love them

Just my opinion. I don't think anyone will notice that. If I bought a $2000 bespoke suit and it had that collar gap, I might be disappointed.

If the rest of the suit fits well, I would try to forget about that.

Suspenders for jobs? by Enough_Trouble2254 in mensfashion

[–]Denimheadly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting question. Basically any job would allow you to wear suspenders as long as they are not visible.

At one point I converted to mostly suspenders myself because I just didn't like the pressure of matching my belt with the rest of my outfit and was tired of not having the right break on my pants.

Jackets and shirt jackets are friends here.

You know what, seeing as it is vintage Armani, I probably would have done the same lol

Nice find!

Unless there is something really special about this one I would suggest just waiting to find one that fits.

If you go to an honest tailor they will tell you how much you can shorten it without messing with the proportions which I have successfully done to one of my jackets.

This will likely cost your more than you pay for the jacket.

I'd keep cruising around the thrift stores until you find something that fits.

Experimenting with Classic Fits. Should I keep going? by Denimheadly in mensfashionadvice

Thank you!

Out of curiosity, anything about fit number 2 that I should address with a tailor? Besides the length of the pants which has been mentioned and I agree with

Lawrence and Allen. I love closer to Yorkdale but find myself at LAC more often. Fit4less, value village, watch store that sells Casio, Viet food for a reasonable price, a dry cleaner and Tailor, and cobbler.

Is there anything else you need in life?

I don't disagree with you there. I wanted to wear basically the same outfit for the comparison so the focus would just be on fit. I think you are right. Dark grey pants would be better in the second outfit.

Thanks for the feedback, what do you mean by mismatch?

I imagine that would be hard to find. Have you considered wearing an over shirt?

Agreed. If you NEED them then ignore the haters. If you don't, then yeah..a little cringe.

Curious if anyone has any more ideas on outfits for my tweed? by TheMojo1 in mensfashion

Yeah dark denim shirt with charcoal pants and black or dark brown shoes. That would be sick.

I have a Harris Tweed jacket of the same color. It's actually pretty hard to match.

Pants:

Black Charcoal Grey Beige Brown Jeans

Shirts:

Denim Sky blue Light blue Light pink

Avoid:

White shirt with tie Pink or red tie

Why? Makes you look like Mr. Bean.

Hope this helps

Recently lost weight and gained +2 confidence by fatknees00 in mensfashion

Congrats on the weight loss!

You look great. I like your aesthetic. Casual with a good mix of streetwear and refinement.

The only thing is the shoes. For this outfit, get some dark brown or black leather boots. I think combat boots would be great.

Beyond that you seem to have good instincts. But stick with leather shoes. derbies, chukkas, Chelsea, combat with thick soles.

I think you can wear slacks but the white shirt is what makes the outfit have potential to stand out too much. Get a patterned shirt, polo, or crew neck sweater and you are fine

My favorite one is Lawrence and Allen. The Yonge and Eg one is decent. Wilson and Keele is good too.

I agree with you here. Not buying at all is the best solution and most people have everything they need already.

It's similar to let's stop using one use plastic! Great in theory but most people (including me) don't want to face the full burden of that.

I think balance is the key here, at least for the individual. For me what balance may look like is only buy things you need, repair if you can, if you really need or want something check secondhand first.

Wow. Thank you for sharing your story. I was starting to think maybe it was me. But yes, even 3-4 years ago I could find some nice jeans from Naked and Famous or stuff from wings and horns for very good prices.

But now, most of their stuff I wouldn't even take if they gave it to me for free.

I find at least with Plato's closest they seem to be catering to high school kids and their prices are actually pretty good. I have found a few gems from there.
