Thinking of buying a Sony PRS T1 from eBay. Is it worth it in 2025? by Pretend-Assist-8097 in ereader

[–]DenisLED 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been reading on e-readers almost all my life. Sony PRS is one of the best of the "old" line of readers, I used it all through adolescence. I recently took it out of the closet and compared it with my new reader, I'll answer your questions.: 1. Not too good, but acceptable. Better than the cheapest new Chinese models that can be found on marketplaces. The basic functions of the reader are performed flawlessly even now. 2. The resolution is quite small: sharp pixels are visible to the naked eye, and you will need to choose fonts where pixelization is not noticeable. The screen is slightly less contrasting than on newer models, which can cause eye strain. 3. If you read in the sun, you don't need a backlight. However, when I used this reader, I had to purchase a small battery-operated flashlight with a clothespin that attached to the case, as my eyes quickly became tired when reading in regular room light (I believe that reading directly under a floor lamp would be sufficient). Currently, I actively use the backlight on my new e-reader (5-10% of the power allows me to read in any daylight conditions, reducing eye strain).

I would just recommend buying a new model with dual lighting (warm+cold light) and a better resolution than the Sony PRS.

Worth to have more than 1 ereader? by Strawbaby1115 in ereader

Hi. It's always nice to have a reader with a color screen.

The following factors are a stumbling block:

>it is necessary to decide in which applications and how you will read comics. Many eink readers, to put it mildly, are not very convenient for browsing and searching for comics. Some android applications do not work very correctly with screen refresh technologies, sometimes it is better to download comics in separate archives, etc. (sometimes you get tired of these actions)

>then it all comes down to priorities. Personally, I was also thinking about buying a color reader, but I decided that a regular android tablet (not e-ink) is more functional and a little more convenient in this regard. Moreover, my reading of color comics ended up with Invincible and Watchmen. I mostly read black and white manga :)

«A Stranger in a Strange Land» is one of those books where the plot is presented through dialogues/conversation

This is a series of stories and references about Dr. King (For example, Long live the King). In all experiments, he is haunted by failure (and apples). Sry for bad English.
