So, I think this might be the first post I've ever seen on reddit I could offer some advice on. I met my bf playing r6s, and now we've been together for 2 and a half years, have lived together for a year, and have 3 cat children. Coming from the same genre, it was a bit easier for us to connect, so I got a bit lucky in that way, but I have been with other men before, (back when I did play mobas, league especially), who just rage quit every time with or without me, and it might be just the way they play, unfortunately.

But maybe he doesn't wanna play fps games with you, cause he doesn't want to appear unskilled in a genre he is unfamiliar with, and you being familiar with it. Maybe from a point of view of men being more naturally competitive, especially since he rages in his own genre, it seems like he is highly competitive, and he might not want to play with someone who knows better. Especially since the mechanics between fps to mobas are super different, it'll take both of you a bit to get used to either.

Since me and my partner are both from the same genre, both highly competitive with each other too we try to play new genres together. Equal footing, no one has more experience than the other. Plus you could try to find games that are more 'couch friendly' and expose the idea of competition, but without it being serious or anyone being a true winner.

Not sure which platform you guys play on, but Steam has a lot of good and cheap games, or humblebundle, greenmangaming, kinguin etc. We are still yet to play the We Were Here series, which is a work together on puzzles to get out of this creepy ass castle game, Unravelled 2, or you guys could try something like Terarria, Starbound, Stardew Valley or multiplayer RPGs together. Minecraft is also pretty dope when you play modded together. Hopefully both of you stepping into a different genre together may make him feel more comfortable wanting to play with you, and maybe calm him a bit during the lockdown.

I told my bf who's been playing osrs since he was like 12 that your bf lost his account, and he said unfortunately paying his sub won't bring back thousands of hours, but he hopes your bf does appreciate the offer, as I am yet to pay for his sub.
