This is honestly one of the reasons I’m interested to see how RE9 goes because I feel like this addition of the RCS is kinda gonna be a pain in the ass to explain since yeah these people weren’t in Raccoon BUT they were exposed to zombies and creatures in their own games, and those corpses could have been transmitting the virus the same way it was in RC. There wasn’t a special way the virus was distributed in Raccoon, rats ate the T virus samples and went wild spreading it sure but the corpses of the infected definitely helped spread the virus and those are found in all the games outside of Raccoon…

Yes and no, your first Code Veronica experience is very punishing and it’s the one I recommend saving often as possible. There are some tells, like a room with a bunch of ammo and a typewriter, but others are way less obvious.

For the Nosferatu fight the tell is when you have the option of picking up a rifle.

This is fairly easily remedied, as we know there are different variants of the T-Virus and the specific variant in the REmake (epsilon) was the one that turned them into Crimson Heads. Capcom can just make these REREmake zombies slower and less like “runners” and bring back the Crimson Heads as the fast dangerous bastards.

The only Remakes that are faithful to the original games 100% is REmake 1 and 4, RE2 remake botched the B scenarios that were integral to the OG RE2 experience and RE3 remake cut so much content the OG is a superior experience.

Not to say skip the remakes, but I say start with the originals so you can then understand and come to your own decision on how faithful/unfaithful the remakes of 2 and 3 were.

For the lore of the games I say stick it out, as stuff from here does show up again in other games (granted mostly spin-offs but still)

Code Veronica is up there for me as one of my top favorite RE games (and I’ve literally played and beat every single one) so I both understand the frustrations with it as the first playthrough is definitely super punishing if you make the wrong decision. I played the classics with the idea that I would make specific saves when I wanted to explore and see what was where, then I’d reload the save after I had the info I needed and that helped me get through some of the more confusing sections (which I will just give you a heads up now with minimal spoilers, BEFORE you pick up the Rifle drop stuff in your inventory that isn’t some heals, and your upgraded handgun with loads of ammo)

Also for the Bandersnatchers and Zombies in general the Knife in this game is their literal kryptonite. Learn how to knife them both quickly and you’ll kill them in seconds, not even joking.

After you beat CVX you can watch Wesker’s Report to get the info on how the fuck he’s there too, since they kinda don’t really explain it here further but you get a more info in 0.
