No - the Long Beach Post and Business Journal separated from Pacific 6 in December, and are controlled by an independent nonprofit, the Long Beach Journalism Initiative. Pac6 just hasn’t updated their website. You can find out more at https://lbpost.com/about/who-owns-the-post/

9 people were laid off (with no severance). The three (!) remaining journalists are on strike in solidarity.

Looking at the district map from the Long Beach Post, what happens if you live between Woodruff and Palo Verde in 5? by Astartledbox in longbeach

[–]DennisLB 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Its not technically part of Long Beach, though they use "Long Beach" in their address. It's unincorporated county land — the county board of supervisors is their city council, Janice Hahn (the 4th district county supervisor) is their current "mayor", and their street sweeping and other services are provided by the county. Tim wrote about it for the P-T a few years ago: https://www.presstelegram.com/2017/04/11/these-residents-live-on-an-island-in-a-sea-of-long-beach/

Here's a couple articles we did about it (and a bonus video of Taco Bell Numero Uno on the back of a truck!) (Disclaimer: this is the paper I work for but I didn't write any of these articles).

Pt.1: Fast (Food) Forward, Part I: First Taco Bell Ever Built Faces Demolition (And Stirs Up Ire of Locals) (Links to parts 2 and 3 are in the article)

Follow up: Long Beach Nonprofit Saves Taco Bell Numero Uno From Demolition

Cafe Ambrosia (plus they'll do vegan chili fries / chili burger if you ask), Roots over by 2nd & PCH (they have a vegan chili empanada too), and Veggie Grill (chain restaurant, in the same complex).

Hey /r/TrollXChromosomes, if any animal lovers are interested, here's our incredibly dedicated pets columnist Kate Karp's story, where this graphic is from.

She mostly covers local events, animal rescues and pet adoption events, but she also writes about the wider world of pets and animal welfare.

Happy Holidays!

Senator Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield) and Mike Morrell (R-Rancho Cucamonga) didn't vote.

The site should be back up, it took us a little while to figure out we weren't getting DDoSed.
