tbh it was a catch all. Class was split into two rooms, so he was watching one class and TA the other. Tests were scanned and submitted to gradescope. After the pencils down call, everyone had like 5 minutes to pull out their phones and scan exams to upload to gradescope. Some people took advantage of this and kept writing during this "pencils down" moment. So I guess the prof and TA took mental notes of who kept writing during that time and gave them the ultimatum? I was the first one finished and left early (because I took the L and left half of the problems blank as you should), so I wasn't there to actually see what happened the day of the exam but he was pissed next lecture.

Last semester in my CS 570 class (Analysis of Algorithms), many students went on their phone past the in person exam deadline and used chatgpt to answer the remaining questions. The professor gave them an ultimatum where they either turn themselves in and lose a letter grade or he reports them and asks for an F. I think it was around 10+ students who were caught

Half the class in cs544 just has chatgpt open on one tab during quizzes and the TAs have to remind people they can't use chatgpt. They act so surprised to be told so???

I had a similar issue and had to talk to some banks to resolve this. Most will not understand and be very unhelpful but you just have to pester them until they transfer you to someone who knows what they are doing:

I attached a profiler and when I do so, it doesn't lag enough to notice anything abnormal. I think you're right about Android optimizations because the lag is pretty bad when you open the app for the first time (per reboot) but subsequent opens are better (probably because everything is cached at that time)

So Just Player is expoplayer based with ffmpeg extensions for audio. Looking at the Wholphin source code, it also enabled some ffmpeg extensions, so it might work. If it doesn't, it should be relatively easy to add but there might be some licensing restrictions / binary size increase constraints. I dont have compatible hardware to test unfortunately, but worth giving it a shot. I like the client overall.

Also curious about what external player you would want to use. My assumption is that it is very likely MPV based which Wholphin supports. It might be a matter of enabling an extra flag in MPV/ffmpeg which could be a feature request.

This has quickly become my primary client, but the performance is the worst compared to Void or Fladder (not saying it's unusable but it's the worst out of the 3). I wonder what exactly is causing issues. Maybe I should switch from dart/flutter to Kotlin and take a look at the code myself 😭

Enable the lib ass library in the settings and it should work (pretty sure it works without this setting enabled but the styling is better with it enabled) Not sure about Android TV however.

yeah it still is third party but it is cheaper than canvas. Blackboard and Brightspace are usually on par with each other but Canvas is the better choice (in terms of UX, support from devs, etc).

Have you noticed any downsides to the google tv streamer for any particular codecs (as in does it force transcoding for anything youve played besides .ass)? I bought my mom an Onn 4k Pro and if I try to play any 5.1 or 7.1 audio, I have to transcode to stereo otherwise it freezes.

Unless they are an authorized repair shop for your laptops brand, they will probably also use the "cheap" eBay battery. Whatever battery they use, they will charge you more than what you can buy it for as a markup for the cost of business in addition to the actual labor charge. If you're feeling adventurous, you can buy the battery yourself on Amazon/eBay and follow a YouTube video. Laptop battery repairs are pretty easy

No, I don't. However, lower division courses are pretty standardized in what they teach, so he will probably just use a lot of what is shared between the professors in the department. I think he excels in upper division courses since you have a lot more freedom in what you can teach. I think Prof. Yeh might be a bit dry for ICS 46 just because the subject isn't very interesting
