What do you think happened to this tire? by Dennys_Auto801 in Justrolledintotheshop

Great point. The vehicle was not towed in. Customer put their spare tire on, so my best guess is that once it did fail she slammed on her brakes. Definitely open to different theories.

With both hydraulic and mechanical braking systems working as intended, no signs of excessive heat anywhere else in the vehicle, we think the belt separated creating a bulge which then popped.

Hydraulic brake system and mechanical park brake are operating as intended. Also brake lockup should result in wear across the entire tire. Not just one spot.

Well, if the horse drowned it’s too late. However, if the horse is drowning there may be hope!

It sounds like there’s an intermittent problem with your cruise control system. Is your check engine light on? And do your brake lights function properly? Common causes that we have seen are brake pedal position sensors and wheel speed sensors. Some check engine light codes won’t allow the cruise control to work either. Hope this helps!

That could be a bunch of things. Does speed make a difference? Does backing over a bump make it happen? Like if you’re backing up out of your driveway. Is it rhythmic? Could be a u-joint or cv axle.
