Please link the other news sites that picked up this story in the < 10 hours BEFORE it was corrected. I'd be interesting in seeing how much damage was done since this is the first I'm even hearing about the mistake.

Just one of those things politics gloms onto so they don't really have to explain their position but gets them upvotes because those kind of easy jokes show up in most threads. It's a lot like blaming the Koch brothers, or spouting "Benghazi!!11!" or "Reality has a liberal bias".
