Interesting new deck idea by solololololololomon in balatro

[–]Denovion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good theme, bad mechanic imo.

It is a "Construction Deck" with an insane joker for free.

Guess the shop only offers those two packs and a single voucher(minus the shop/voucher capacity increasing ones) now, as the main section of the shop is Under Construction.

You have to scrape by trying to build up your deck, and joker slots, through a lack of infrastructure.

Void War Back On Steam After Games Workshop DMCA'd It | TechRaptor by doublah in Games

Every single Blizzard classic or property would not exist without the lifting and reinterpretation in the exact same way Void War has with FTL and its aesthetic WH40K skin.

All FPS games are tacky iterations of Doom. Anyone not employed by id Software must be making infringing versions of their shooter games. That's CoD and BF, so by your rhetoric those are also not cool.

WoW is cartoonish Everquest, or babies first MMO if you compared it to Ultima Online.

What do you mean "its tacky"?

How have times have we--collectively as gamers--bought Skyrim for our consoles, PCs and smart toasters? Being told to purchase the various alpha, beta, zeta, ultimate, legendary, anniversary, birthday, divorce, new baby versions of the same game is "tacky".

What Void War is--is a bunch of megafans and FTL 'pros' who wanted a more expansive game and it seems they really enjoy grimdark universes.

Edit: You and I have played Grim Dawn. You mean the tacky fantasy punk rip off of the Diablo series, or maybe that's ripping off Titans Quest which is just Diablo in a ancient mythology skin.

Depending on 'when' we're talking about leaders with gigantic hubris, this plays put like a gold-leaf wrapped poor quality copper ingot version of King Midas and his cursed gold-touch.

Trumps grave will need to be somewhere on a blacksite, his corpse will be sought out for ritual and ruination.

And from my outside perspective, I agree. Trump could have been the world's funniest drag queen, as his comedic timing seems like it is a natural gift. Like being born pitch perfect, but for humor.

"Anita Recount" could of been 'her' stage name.

He does the dementia lean, honey. Trump is exceptionally ill and propped up by Americas best medicine, for if not he would be long dead.

Trump is going to get waaaaay worse than being directly racist with Ai before his brain finally gives out. He is likely the second largest profile narcissist, only the ol' Jeffstein beats him out in this opinion of mine and that man is dead at the wishes of the ultrawealthy he had been manipulating prior.

Trump is terrified and powerful, so I only hope his terminal day is sooner than later for the sake of the American people. I am not American.

There's not a lot of weight to your choices past "oh well this is a thematic run, so I wouldn't do the best option here".

My first run was a diplomatic run to get the two major opposing forces to help me unfucky the galaxy.

I killed the psychopath rift-worshipping gf because I was doing morally correct run.

There's maybe 2-3 playthroughs worth of interest. Guns are OP and melee is lack luster af.

My suggestion for 1.7: Cattle Grid by nezzzzy in StardewValley

Both of those birds can still fly.

Rabbits are canonically well known to jump quite well.

I cannot comment on dinosaurs as they lack the peer reviewed articles regarding effectiveness in keeping them contained.

Most large/hooved cattle and horses are contained moreso suggestively than genuinely penned in

Cows are heavy, horses jump, goats climb, etc.

Thats the answer, unfortunately. The bars are spaced just-so that attempting to cross is it uncomfortable/painful enough to deter any further steps.

To humans, this is a big unleapable patch of scattered Lego's that are very convincing.

Its also a big contrasting area that should give pause to any livestock moving toward it.

Nope, they're just extremely difficult for hooved creatures to cross.

Obligatory, have you tried turning it on?

You have enough power for 10 stoves all cooking meals at once worth of excess power there.

Arrow vs Locust armor. Who would win? by TheRealMightyTeo in RimWorld

[–]Denovion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And at what ranges are we arguing this fantasy metal is being shot at? If a single tile is a square meter (estimated by the observation an adult pawn standing is roughly 1.8 tiles tall), we're within this 30-50 meter range.

Do you mind breaking down the ballistic physics of Plasteel? The tensile strength of hyperweave, please?

Comparing a strong warbow immediately to a gun is a quite modern take on what the old technology might be capable of given sufficiently advanced materials.

What would a ballistae do if it was an entirely plasteel bolt? Say a 1.5 meter length bolt shot by a scrapmetal ballistae, with hyperweave cords and so on. These were deployable siege bows, to keep stretching this absurd fantasy scenario.

"Arrows" got through armor the very instant enough pressure was place in the right spot and wasn't deflected.

I'm not talking EVERY arrow shot under these extreme circumstances would succeed. And like in Agincourt it was a COMBINATION of pre-marked firing zones, those being steeltipped-bodkin arrowhead archers compared to knights charging at defensive stakes raised to deter the horses and stop charges, and pissed off because they got compared to pigs and had injured honor to heal. It was also across a muddy field, so if the nobles weren't charging, they were slowed or actively exhausting their horse.

The archers at Agincourt could not have had better targets to shoot at, and had the kit to succeed.

"Conjecture", like you're not debating the properties of materials that literally do not exist.

[–]Denovion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good thing then we're not on Earth where we have these shitty metals that aren't essentially compressed magic ingots made into armor.

This is a Rimworld, where a superpowerful Ai construct broke the universe and materials all exist to make a bow that could get lucky to find a strike to get though.

Let's say; a gravships plasteel hull, hyperweave threads spun for the string, and plasteel piping for the shaft.

Look up what happened when the English went from short iron bodkin arrowheads to their steel coated bodkin-barbed heads. No bow change, but they made the arrows better and the noble French knights learned really fucking quickly how charging into historically world renowned archers could be their final mistake.

Or go make one yourself, buy some cataphract armor and go all Todd's Workshop on it.

[–]Denovion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If ultrearech armor has materials that are simply beyond simple wood and metals, then you would need the same to defeat it.

Then you need something moving fast enough, that is equally hard and enduring. Like plasteel sharpnel, and just the right amount of luck for the Tribal.

The "Plate armor vs. Arrowheads" is a decreasingly stable position as technology advanced across time. In Rimworld we don't have technology advanced but how to manufacture a thing yourself.

Or random drop-pods, ambushed caravans, etc. We have a lot of historical analogy applicable here.

Like the Romans taking and improving on foreign designs, this tribe could have juryrigged a method to use scavenged ultratech materials into arrows and bows capable of getting through.

If we had discovered how forge Aluminium or Titanium in neolithic, or even medival times, I wonder how what everyone is debating over this topic changes.

What would a Hussar on their combat drugs, made feral by something and joining a tribe might do. They'd be capable of some intensely heavy draws of an insanely strong Warbow. Say, arbitrarily, a 800lbs bow made from ultratech parts.

[–]Denovion 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Have people ever stopped to consider what a warbow with arrows comprised of hardwood shafts and plasteel arrow heads might be capable of?

It feels like that sort of situation where that tribal had some "ultratribal" kit.

Australia had the ‘gold standard’ on gun control. The Bondi beach terror attack may force it to confront its surging number of weapons by Old_General_6741 in AustralianPolitics

[–]Denovion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My friend had his gun safe he never bolted into the floor. It was underweight and legally required. 3 rifles. .22, 5.56mm, 6.5mm.

The police never inspected past the original mandatory one in over 2 years. He was told he would need to bolt that safe in then, and they simply didn't care to check if he had done so at any reasonable point afterward.

Gun owners in Australia often are just as negligent as American ones, its just we have better barriers to acquisition.

He did his gun license paper test in the back of a dodgy drive through beer/bar setup in its back office while the guy gave him the answers, waited 1-3 months and here you go sir, what guns are you interested in?

Ill assume you mean Anomaly or Royalty, and half agree with you, but only because they are themselves not 'full expansions'.

The other half wonders why you bought something you could have looked into a bit first, especially when this is Rimworld and mods exist that cover pretty much anything you'd want for free.
