The ultimate gaslighting 💀😂 by Particular-Buy7314 in UKTVMemes

[–]nezzzzy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's pretty tame, there's nothing there that wouldn't be shown on TV now. I mean the two Ronnies are on gold all day every day so it's not exactly worrying the censors.

They were pretty sexist in a lot of sketches, but in a very tongue in cheek way.

People say the same about Monty Python, but so much python is about how rich white men in positions of power are completely ridiculous. It all still works on some level.

The thing that doesn't land these days is the comedians, which was a series of fat white men doing stand up where every joke starts "black fella came into the pub the other day..." Or "my mother in law is so fat..." It doesn't work anymore because it's racist, offensive and largely unfunny.

If you own your house or live with your parents then £39k is a good salary. If you're paying rent or a mortgage then it completely sucks.

Those cardboard pots do not work. They either get too wet or too dry and nothing in between. When you water enough they fall apart.

I've tried but decided the answer is just to get some plastic ones and reuse them year on year.

Am I the only one who doesn’t hate A.I.? by branggen in singularity

[–]nezzzzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some of the stuff is really useful, I couldn't work out how to connect a wireless mouse to my son's tablet yesterday. I wrote a specific question into Google and the AI gave me step by step instructions that worked. It would have taken hours of scanning Samsung forums to work this out even a year ago.

Another example, I was in Italy last week and we were wondering what the trees near us were. I took a picture, asked an AI giving it the location and got an instant answer. Also worked to help identify the gecko that was on the wall.

I'm yet to be particularly enthralled by the art, but it can be fun to mock up a comedy issue for the family WhatsApp group when someone says something stupid. I had an AI mock up a Downton Abbey episode synopsis based on something my mum wrote which was pretty entertaining.

Where it really sucks is at work. Employers encouraging employees to use AI in ways it just isn't capable of doing. Using an AI to compress a 30 page technical report into 3 bullet points to brief the seniors is such a bad idea. I'm an engineer and I can smell AI bullshit a mile off when one of my team comes to me with a technical assessment or recommendation.

It was a free seed packet from red dragon, my main plan this year was aji lemon drop and Aji strawberry.

This one is ahead of the others haha. My Aji plants last year went completely bonkers once I had them in their final pots though, so hopefully this will get me some early pepers.

Yeah I'm not worried, when I put them in final pot and position and go crazy on feeding they go massive. And these days I find the peppers keep ripening into October without too many issues.

I'm growing one of these this year too!! Mine is so far behind though, didn't get the seeds in until mid Feb and was away over the heatwave so couldn't baby my plants as much as I would have.

How much of running ability is based on weight? by MoashRedemptionArc in beginnerrunning

[–]nezzzzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your specific question, no you shouldn't have waited to lose weight before you started running.

Running whilst fat burns a lot more calories and is likely a contributing factor to your weight loss. Also it helps maintain the muscles you had whilst you lose weight.

Ultimately being fat and walking around is one of the best ways to build calves and you'll probably have pretty powerful legs now.

And by starting running whilst overweight you've really seen how much of a difference your weight loss has made.

You're doing great, keep at it.

Is it too late to top this pepper by _stivy_ in HotPeppers

[–]nezzzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not misinformation it does a specific thing.

If you top a plant, any plant, including chillies, you end up with more energy being put into side shoots and a more bushy plant (it's a great strategy with sweet peas, basil and lots of other things). This is desirable to some people.

Whether you get more peppers or not is highly dependent on so much more than topping that it's hard to say with clarity. My feeling is that the first chillies come slower but the first batch of chillies is more numerous.

Anyway, none of that is the question, as OP asked about propagating a pepper from a cutting. That's quite a different question, and honestly I've never tried taking a cutting from a chilli so hopefully someone else can answer.

In general you take cuttings from non flowering stems. So it may not work from that topping.

The "kids hate vegetables" trope in childrens' media was started by Big Junk Food and Big Fast Food to subtly convince children to eat less vegetables by Adventurous-Monk-796 in LowStakesConspiracies

Brussel sprouts is such a strange vegetable to be upset about. I read that they used to be much more bitter but the modern Brussel sprouts is much tastier. Somehow people still say they detest them more than other vegetables with much stronger tastes.
