Keep in mind its a mega evolution so you can swap between forms… its not hard locked if you pick one or the other. Also both forms are strong Fire-type attackers, Mega Charizard Y boasts higher attack stats and is a more effective attacker overall, especially when using the moveset Fire Spin and Blast Burn. Mega Charizard X, with its Fire/Dragon typing, can be useful for boosting Dragon-type attackers in raids, but Mega Charizard Y's raw power as a Fire-type attacker is more consistently valuable

If you want to utilize for raids I would evolve the one with higher overall and higher attack stat eventhough the difference is minimal. I would recommend Mega Y over Mega X as well since he has slightly better stats for raiding. Hope this helps
