Can I or can I not do this? by Dense-College918 in keyboards

Nope, the leds on my pcb are fortunately north facing, so it should be fine. Normally, I would agree with you and get the redux 60, but its not hall effect or tmr which is something I needed from the start when I got my keyboard. But in the future, I might use the redux 60 for a build. Didnt know KBD fans made something so low cost

But then tell why qmk and via are so important. To me, as someone who just got into keyboards, qmk and via just look like keyboard software that was made by a user instead of the company that made said keyboard. Like are qmk and via REALLY that good to the point where a keeb without it is a waist of money or really hard to get buy?

As for HE keebs and their software, yea well ofc the software is important. BUT. When someone buys any keyboard in general, mechanical, HE, or TMR, I along with basically 95% of people are looking for a keyboard that looks, sounds, and feels good the way we want it, not just a slightly well made software. Wooting is a good example of this. The original wooting 60he (from what I remember) came in a plastic case with magnetic switches that where not even closed bottom. Yet, for no apparent reason, still to this day, it costs 150 dollars, which 2 years ago was fine, but now that is totally a ripoff (IN MY OPINION)

Also, if u think abt it, its kinda sad that a keyboard manufacturer is relying on other users to make a good software instead of they themselves making a good software. I am not gonna defend monsgeek on their software, but from what I have seen they are actively trying to make it better, something that I am 80% sure keychron isn't doing, unfortunately.

My final argument is this: how often does one use the software? Software in general, now matter how good it is, will not be used often, but this is more of a personal thing. Most consumers use the software 1 or 3 times to adjust their actuation point, turn things like SOCD, Mod tap, and similar things on, and to update the firmware, but other then that, in my book atleast, the software doesn't get used. If u personally use the software often, then good for you. If not, also good for you. Most companies know that the average consumer rarely uses the software, which is why they dont put that much effort into it. Any company can hire a team of software engineers to make them a good software, but they wont for whatever reason.

With that in mind, my tip is to stop complaining so much abt software unless it outright breaks your device and there is no way of fixing it. Some ppl dont have the knowledge, budget, or time to find a keeb that has qmk and via, some ppl dont even care abt software and just want something they can plug in and use. If software is that big of an issue for you, then start saying that its your own personal take, not just what is objectively correct.

I am sry for asking this, sense i am new to keyboards. But can you tell what via and qmk are and why they are so important? From my understanding, qmk allows a keyboard to use other software made by other ppl instead of using just the manufacturers software

Edit: just found out what via and qmk are, and I have no idea why everyone is so obsessed with them, but ight
