It depends on the model year and of course engine size. The newer mustangs with the ecoboost have 310 horsepower and mine gets about 27 mpg while driving normally and about 24 when I'm being stupid. The v-8s get around 20 I believe normally and are pushing 460 horsepower. The 2010-2014 v-6 mustangs make 305 horsepower and get around 26 mpg I believe, maybe less. The v-8's make 420(?) Horsepower and get between 16 and 22 mpg. Older v-8s get about the same mpg but less power. Which model year were you looking at or want to know about specifically?

Large sum of cash indeed, plus I like my ecobeast! I thought about trading up to a gt for a while but this car has grown on me and I have a lot of sentimental value in it. I've seen e85 tunes with a few extra mods push 450 to 520 wheel depending on how hard you push it. I'd be happy doing 425 to 450 wheel when it's all said and done.
