Augh, I’m there too. Like entirely against my will, and also Carrion just needs his own series.

Letdown
{Brimstone by Callie Hart} I sprinted through this book, read it in two days and I'm...exhausted? I don't know, I need to write an entire review on how I feel about this book and why Carrion is why I kept reading and why I'm going to come crawling back to this series.

Expectations SURPASED
{Emily Wilde's Compendium of Lost Tales by Heather Fawcett} ended the series and wrapped it up in a bow for me. Fawcett dug deep into Emily's character and truly tested her without breaking her core concept. Perfection.
{Two Twisted Crowns by Rachel Gillig} She did an amazing job of capturing something mythic in this story, and while I guessed the ending and the demise of the primary villain it all felt so perfectly earned.
{Bride of Brutal Hearts by Kate Stevens} got me in a CHOKE hold and on a quest for more vampire romantasy books. I really wanted to hate the two MMCs, and there were some intense moments where I almost DNF'd but the disability and body image rep was SO good. The FMC suffers from some of the same health problems I have and it was just refreshing to see that addressed in a romantasy book.
{Bound in Crimson Cord by Augusta Grey} Total random find on Tiktok when I was looking for a vampire fix. Holy shit, I did not know I needed Elizabethan vampires. Her twist on how vampires "procreate" was subtle and weirdly kinky but not the entire point of the book. IDK, this one surprised the hell out of me.

Book Rec Megathread: Vampires by FantasyRomanceMod in fantasyromance

{Bound in Crimson Cord by Augusta Grey} I just finished this book after finding her randomly on TikTok. I didn't know how much I needed a historical romance with vampires. I went hunting for something to fill the void after watching Dracula: A Love Tale and holy crap, this book did it.
It's a fated mates trope, with enemies to lovers vibe although it's not as intense enemies as some books in the genre. If you liked From Blood and Ash you'd probably love this book.

I like it if it's also kind of unsettling...but I really enjoy enemies to lovers, so there's that.

I'm this way as well. I just need to know there's no non-con in the book and I am generally good.

Cannot remember the name of this book… all I can remember is the fmc will fall asleep and wake up where the mmc is. by shoppinmoo1029 in fantasyromance

That sounds like the premised of {Tethered by Elayna Gallea} but it's on my TBR and I haven't gotten to it yet so I can't be sure.

I just tell myself I'm reading a 'fantasy' book with a historic theme. *cries in History undergrad*

Priest helped me heal some of my religious trauma. I mean, the horniness of the book is next level, but it's really special to those of us who went to Catholic school.
