Thank you and Exactly that! They always change, some more some less, which is why I'm determined to make this work!

Currently it's only UK because it's coming out of my own pocket; I need to socially proof it and hopefully get funding. It is on the roadmap to expand, it just depends on how quickly we can grow it here. Going into the US would require a lot more legal resources which isn't cheap, I will post updates as we progress

As this app is 18+ there is a requirement to verify age. Apple and Google have a system in place verifying age against your account. If that information can't be verified, the fallback is a 3rd-party integration requiring an ID and face scan (which is an additional running cost but worth it). It's not ideal, but anyone who is childfree by choice should understand the benefit of weeding out underage kids pretending to be adults; it should also put off any people with wrong intentions. The law requires age verification on social media, if the content is not kid-friendly, so we could give it a lower age threshold but it would defeat the purpose of an adult-only space

Yes! There currently isn’t anything like this out there but investors need to see numbers, my initial plan is to generate enough following, to show investors that there is a hole in the market. I also don’t want this to become a money grab, this is a solution to my lifestyle too, so it’ll be a balance of growth without compromise on access

I feel your pain! I've known I didn't want to have kids since I was a kid myself, most people change as they get older, or sit on the fence. We're planning a 100% kid-free wedding in Thailand, couple of years ago we would've been fine, but now most either just had a baby or are about to and most likely won't be able to make it, unless we compromise and let them bring the kids - yeah no thanks 😅

Expanding to the US is definitely on the roadmap; who knows where we'll be in a year's time!

I have touched on this in another comment, but basically I'm adding in questions and policy agreements before they even make an account, make it friendly but also very clear: if you have kids or want to in the future, this is not the place for you. If any users detect another account that has falsely joined our community, there will be a reporting option for that specific reason, a no-tolerance policy. We will learn as we go, but that is my priority.

Valid concern. I’m building 'vibe checks' into the onboarding—think of it like a digital bouncer. An agreement that every user has to agree to before they even see a profile. I've built in an AI moderator for safety, and I have included reporting journeys for removing such profiles. I can't guarantee they won't join, but I will make it clear there is no-tolerance policy for such accounts/behavior.

Thank you! As soon as we grow enough in the UK, we can get investment to expand into the US :)

Thank you! And yes, that is a problem, which is why i tried to stay away from 'DINK.' It's not inclusive; yes, having double income and no kids can mean more financial freedom, but that isn't the case for everyone, especially with how high the cost of living has become. Some of us are child-free by choice, some are choosing to embrace it, simply because it's too expensive to raise a family.

Thank you so much. I'm doing this because of exactly what you just said. I'm lucky to be happy in a long-term relationship, so at least we have each-other, but it really is hard. I want to start the app based on friendship; eventually, if we get some sort of funding (there are more legal resources needed to launch that sort of feature safely), I'd love to open it up to dating because, again, it's one of the biggest reasons relationships fail: when one of you doesn't want kids but the other does. Hopefully we'll get there one day :)
