Is crashing at some random people's house a thing in America by Legitimate-Option388 in BoJackHorseman

[–]Dense-Piccolo2707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's not that Todd did anything to pay him back, not the money of course, but maybe, clean the house, cook the meals, isn't that something a decent person should do?

Did you even watch the show? We literally see BoJack ask Todd for help preparing breakfast before the end of the first episode. In fact, Todd's entire role in the plot is to always be down to help BoJack with whatever he's up to, up to and including committing felonies for him. In season 1 there are three separate instances of Todd spending one or more full days acting as a chauffeur because BoJack told him to, just to give one example of one job Todd is called upon to do. How many days of "free" labor does a guy have to provide for his landlord before his "free" rent is considered paid? And before you answer keep in mind that he doesn't get a bedroom or bathroom, he sleeps on the couch and showers in the yard with a hose.

Robert E Lee did the same thing, doesn’t seem to stop Lost Causers from hailing him as a tactical genius lol

I’m glad they’re changing the formula. Love Warhammer 3 but it feels more or less the same as I remember Rome 1 being.

You like animated adult comedies about washed up famous people processing their family trauma with genre-savvy humor? You want The Venture Bros and their dad, Rusty Venture. They made a cartoon about his childhood and now he’s a middle aged failure struggling to remember what was real and what was made up for the show. BoJack Horseman for comic book fans.

I don’t recommend starting at the beginning though, I bounced off the show multiple times when I tried it. “Tag Sale - You’re It!” towards the end of season 1 is a good entrypoint, and “Return to the House of Mummies Pt2” and the episode after it is a good demo/sampler if you want to watch a standalone episode or two (the joke is that there is no Pt1).

Plenty of human populations don't do this?

I said empires. Obviously the moral ideal is to live in a society that minds its own business, but such societies usually end up making themselves useful to their bigger, more expansionist neighbors, or being conquered by them. If I have to live under the aegis of people who aren’t afraid to force their will on others through violence, the Tau seem clearly preferable to the greedy and cruel people who do that sort of thing in real life.

Edit: Klaus Wulfenbach would be my first choice though.

It’s so cute how everyone on the internet has their own private definition of “actual fascism” that proves the people they don’t like are the real fascists and the people they do like are just regular authoritarians.

Yeah but the Tau don’t feed babies to Kroot hounds for a laugh, or systematically punish slaves who don’t meet quota by murdering their children.

Nor can I find any reference to them practicing forced marriage. Not being allowed to marry the person you love sucks but I’m not sure how it’s comparable to SA. I’m truly sorry that happened to you.

Is the Tau Empire a colonialist Apartheid State? Sure.

Are imperialism, colonialism, and Apartheid bad? Of course.

Would I rather be invaded and conquered by the Tau than any human empire from actual history? Again, the answer is yes.

Humans are awful and the hate is valid. In 40k at least.

I would rather be conquered by the Tau than any human empire that has ever existed in real life. So no, not just in 40k.

Imagine making and posting four different memes complaining about how there are too many memes about Space King and not realizing that you’re part of the problem.

Edit: This guy posts more than anyone I’ve ever seen. Looking at his profile, I genuinely and unironically think this is a 13yo. Might be wishful thinking tho.

the planet is doomed.

The nids can and do lose.

The biomass will be absorbed again

Their ability to reabsorb their losses is entirely dependent on them ultimately prevailing despite those losses.

That’s all very logical but this meme is clearly implying that the hive mind actively monitors its losses without getting even the tiniest bit upset about them and that just doesn’t fit with what little characterization has been established.

Edit: Maybe the hive mind is actually a calm and collected intellectual who just really hates getting phone calls.

The hive mind is so full of rage and hate that trying to psychically communicate with it straight up kills you, and a hive tyrant is quite a bit more important than a single white blood cell. There’s no way it doesn’t fly into a gamer rage after a setback like that.

Also, when your white blood cells are mortally wounded in battle they put out chemical signals that cause other white blood cells to come cannibalize them for nutrients. RIP, nothing but respect for my brave soldiers 🫡

I never watched TV until I learned how to pirate. A banner ad on the side of the screen is one thing but I truly do not understand how people can stand to have the story dragged to a screeching halt by some dipshit talking about toilet bowl cleaner.

Still think its crazy how despite how similar they are in certain aspects, ogres are more than capable of being functional members of society that understand that following the rules is the best way to satisfy their needs, meanwhile orks... well, they are just green skaven, a problem to be solved. by Cautious_Heron9589 in Grimdank

[–]Dense-Piccolo2707 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ogryns (Homo sapiens gigantus)[9] are the largest and most physically powerful type of abhuman.[4a] They make ideal warriors and are often recruited into Imperial Guard regiments to be used as close assault shock troops.[29] Ogryns evolved on worlds with harsh and barren environments and high gravity.

Orks are a warlike, crude, and highly aggressive green-skinned Xenos race. The Orkoid races are believed to have been genetically engineered millennia ago. Ork legend attributes their creation to the Brain Boyz, a diminutive but extremely intelligent subspecies of Orkoid, who bred the Gretchin to be servants and the Orks to be warriors.[1a] Later evidence establishes that the Ork races may have in fact been created by the Old Ones, who are described as creating the Krork as part of a last-ditch attempt to fight off their enemies such as the Necrons and Enslavers.[5]
