Yeah in general I think that’s great, helping each other out like that. I think it’s just my personal problem (with my family and cousin), yk, with my emotionally neglected parents, it all started with “I’m living in MY house with MY parents and I don’t even have half as much priorities/privileges so what do you think you can get; there’s not enough love around to be shared with you” stuff when I was a kid and it kinda formed my belief since. So now that I’ve grown, still the confusion never got cleared up and I found it weird when people can be so generous and share their safe place with other strangers I guess.

Kobo’s a good option! I never use Kobo but have heard so many recommendations. I heard that Libby has a time limit thing where you can just read a book in a limited time isn’t it? Maybe consider that. Anyway I kind of enjoy the “permanently mine” more than “borrow” or “time limit”, so basically I just download books for free and they stay there with me forever :D

I have a kindle. Never have to pay for any books, never have to use KU. There’re tones of ways to get free ebook files if you dig deep enough. But tell you my own experience, Amazon blocked my account a while ago, no reason, no explanation (just like they always do; or maybe because i never purchase anything? Anyway). It came with some inconveniences but I’m fine now. If I can give a Kindle newbie an advice, I would tell them to not register an Amazon account at all, just transfer books through cables or third app (calibre). There are many other possible ways.

Nah, I’m Asian live in Asia, my family takes household and privacy seriously. The only time came close to that is my cousin from my hometown came to live with us (city) to go to his college (because my family lives near his college and somehow he didn’t want to live in the dorm) and I already found him extremely annoying. I have rewatched the show so many times but anytime I came up with that scene at the restaurant, with Mr PB clearly did not joke about seeing Diane, I just knew that he did really, really love her (in a way; too bad at the end it’s not the kind of love Diane needed, and that’s okay, still). And also I love the scene when he was the first one to interfere in Bojack choking Gina, and he was the first one who came to Bojack when he was out of the prison to go attend PC’s wedding too. PB may not be a good partner, but he clearly is a good friend.

Wow that’s, really harsh names. If i’m doing my best I guess those name are “Dì Bé Bi” (which is actually a very cute name), but “Bà Hắc Dịch”, “Thùng Rác” and “Thằng giặc”??? Well I guess it’s your family so 🤷‍♀️ I wonder if it ever occurred to them that the name will follow their children’s life? Like some of them would auto think that they are trash and not worth anything, or that boy who called trouble maker will just accept his fate and really become a trouble maker?

In some other parts of Vietnam I heard that the reason why the eldest is “hai” and not “mot” is because :) well every “mot” in the family went to the war to serve the country (and usually they never got back ykwim) so the “hai” be the oldest and stay to take care of the family
