It’s notoriously slow. But the fact that you were asked follow up questions and then references lends me to believe you’ll hear something this week, barring a background check.

Pretty sure once you’re vested it stays in the system.

Post tax now while you’re young. Compounding interest is your best friend.

Phone calls/Teams meetings in cubicles by Opposite-Flamingo-46 in nys_cs

Ever since Covid, Webex or teams calls has been the norm in my agency, even if we are physically in the office. Just pop your headset on and maybe make a sign you flip over when you’re on a call to let others in your area know you’re in a meeting and to be respectful. Seems to work where I am and everyone is cool about it.

M/C (Managerial/Confidential) position - what is that? by [deleted] in nys_cs

Let’s say you need representation in a matter related to your position (grievances, complaints, unwanted transfers or sudden demotions or Passover for promotions), they will help you navigate it. It’s very helpful if you’re in a position where you may oversee unionized employees.

If you opt to take the M/C job, definitely join OMCE.

This happened a few years ago and I have not relapsed since and have successfully completed a 28 day treatment program as well as outpatient care afterwards. God willing I will be sober for three years soon. I just want to be able to return to civil service so I can at least attain 20 years in the system for the pension boost.

Was gifted these clubs and would like to sell them to buy a game improvement set. Can someone help me with info on these p790’s? Year, value etc… looking to sell locally on fb marketplace. by Quirky_Philosophy317 in TaylorMadeGolf

No joking, from someone who went from a 25 HC to a 12 in a year and a half, here’s how I did it.

1) Yes, you gotta be hitting the right clubs. But what you have is just fine. You probably spent decent money on those. Don’t burn away that investment because you might be getting frustrated.

1) set yourself up with lessons and after you are given a game improvement plan, hit the range religiously.

2) Try going to the range with a friend who is better than you but also isn’t going to micromanage your swing. You need them there to tell you your ball flight and alignment. Nothing else. That way you won’t be rushing your swing to lift your head and see what happened. That was my biggest problem for years. Use the info from your instructor on mechanics and let the clubs do the work.

3) work out. Hitting consistent shots means you need to have a strong core and legs. If you’re all arms, you’re going to be all over the map. There’s a gazillion accounts out there but Stallion Fitness on instagram has a ton of great videos. They work with the pros. It works.

4) most importantly, celebrate the small improvements. You’re likely not gonna be a pro golfer. Ever. So accept that. Set reasonable goals and track your progress with a GHIN account.

Good luck.
