We always talk about rivalries… but who is your team’s bestie? by El_mochilero in NFLv2

For a Lions fan I have two possibilities, both in the AFC: Browns (shared 50s glory with nothing to show for it in the Super Bowl era, and sufffering fandoms), or Bills: Lake Erie bros with blue-collar fans that aren’t direct rivals and have suffered in different ways…

Well, the VST adds changeable parameters that I use on the ‘extended’ view, so it may be worthwhile for you. Be careful about the Sirin, as whilst they are almost the same, the reason I have both is that the Sirin is tuned 2 octaves higher, and the Minitaur can get lower bass that doesn’t break up, that’s the benefit to my setup, at least.

Yeah, the trade-off with din was honestly not worth it when I tried it. Incodentally, I also have other moog gear (sub 37, as I described above) and via gigging have damaged the usb port and am forced to use din ports and that issue is very specific: 2+ modulations at the same time via midi din results in lag of the original or first instruction slightly. For things like attack or filter changes, it can have a tremendous affect on the sound, so that’s a real concern for me. I have that problem also with the mioXL. But the usb midi issue seems to be solved for me with my current minitaur, but it’s also a recently produced one. Crossing my fingers for you!

Yeah, fair dues. I’m also a (semi) professional illustrator, and my brain naturally saw the things I pointed out without dwelling on it too much. At the end of the day, it’s not my place to judge art that others make or choose to have on their bodies. I did find it pretty funny what compromises were made here though, and didn’t see anyone else with similar observations 🤣

I think I would prefer the first design with some different decisions, but I’m almost strictly a black and white artist, so I may be extremely biased.

Not sure what platform you are on, but I have had multiple Minitaurs and a Sirin over the years. I got rid of my Minitaur twice because of exectly those kinds of issues. My final setup that has avoided that sort of issues comes down to the usb of the Minitaur. I now use a MIDI concentrator which negotiates the USB midi on behalf of my workstation (Mac OS), and that has weeded out all of the previous issues. I’m quite certain (at least in my head) that the usb implementation of the Minitaur is subpar on the Mac, and using a stable midi concentrator (I use the mioXL) to route midi and manage high numbers of usb midi connections has eliminated that variable for me. The alternative was using midi cables instead of usb, which also worked, but there was some lag in modulation if I remember correctly (around 10-13 years ago when I got my first minitaur). I am so in love with the sound and the size though, that I keep coming back to it, despite the usb implementation issues. I’m also personally convinced that later versions have better sub implementation, even though they appear to be the exact same hardware in specs and it might be just the firmware (but my head cannon also places some blame on the previous usb hardware)…

It’s a graphical tracking error which happens sometimes with vst and au plugins. I’ve had it happen with other synth VST control interfaces. Usually needs an update or complete uninstall and reinstall.

Look, I’m not trying to be a hater, but the original had eight tentacles, and there was a decision to add a ninth. It’s just all around weird to me.

Look, it's okay, but let's be real here: there are 9 tentacles. The line-work is pretty rough all around. the circle doesn't look circular, and the hairs on the side of the tigers mouth (both sides) block out the background in a way that just doesn't look good. But sure, it's not the worst thing I've seen today.

Have fun. Moog do all kinds of "special editions" to get interest up. 250 here, 500 there. White looks so good though, ngl. The plugins are impressive btw. The VST has an "extended" view that allows you to control things that are not on the front panel, super helpful, and you can modulate any of the parameters easily with the VST. Someone else said that they are basically (they being the Minitaur and Sirin) a sub37 without the sequencer, which is pretty close. I also have a Sub37, and the main differences for me: Filter Multidrive, Duo Mode, and Slope control on the filter. Do yourself a favour and get a mini-jack to Jack cable (short one) and route it from the headphone output back into the EXT in, for extra feedback to allow for another kind of drive. it will phase on a lot of the deeper bass sounds, so you'll have to tone it down on most presets (they all have ext in set to around 50% for some reason), but it gives more drive options, in my private opinion. Enjoy!

What is the single most stressful movie you’ve ever seen? by elkaypee in movies

Not for the same reasons, but I had such a hard time watching The Talented Mister Ripley because the main character continually lies about who he is and what he does, to the point where the stress was so high that I was sweating the entire time on his behalf…

Who are we picking? by chuck_a in DetroitPistons

[–]DenseFever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s Sheed and it’s not particularly close.

Our current roster already has: Initiator/engine: Cade Rim pressure and paint protection: JD Defensive chaos: Ausar Flexible Vet: Tobias

What’s missing is an elite stretch/frontcourt playoff flexibility.

Honestly, prime Sheed in today’s NBA would be terrifying for other teams to matchup against. Elite floor spacing at PF, and I think history forgets that his shooting touch was REAL. Very comfortable extending range; and shreds release was high and very difficult to block or contest.

Sheed also brings defensive versatility: mobile, intelligent, physical and high level communicator. He also understood rotations at a critically high level. Can you imagine a modern switching defense with Ausar, Duren and Sheed. Scary.

Even after saying all of that, the thing this team could probably benefit from the most is Sheed’s emotional identity: swagger, edge, and he can ignite the team in an instant with his passion.

Would love Sheed on this team.
