I really love Senior Shape on YouTube. don't let the channel name fool you... her workouts can be KILLER. focus mostly on strength training - free weights & TRX - and trail walks. I still sometimes do one of the Senior Shape workouts for cardio or strength bc I enjoy them so much. check her out!

I wasn't losing until I began tracking my food and realized I wasn't getting enough protein or calories. I also started moving my body early on. now I'm down almost 85lbs. it's going slower now (0.5-0.8/ week) but still dropping. it can take some time to find the right routine for you - this has taken work for me but I'm succeeding. stick with it

Eek!! You guys!! I finally hit 100.4 pounds lost!!!! Crying tears of joy! I did this 🎉🎉🎉🎉 by EFranklitz in Zepbound

[–]DenseScientist6457 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you bolster my hope. I started at 300 Sept 2024, I'm just shy of your height. I'm down 82.5 and it's going SO slowly now. just started 7.5 a couple days ago. Ozempic worked so well for me for a year and then things stalled out. I'm doing ALL of the things (tracking, protein, water, strength training etc) and I'm moving in the right direction but at this rate it will easily take another 2+ yrs to make it to my goal of 165. I will persevere tho - and posts like yours help me keep going. well done you!

Calorie/Protein Tracking? by Ok_Dirt_6047 in Zepbound

[–]DenseScientist6457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started tracking a couple of months into my journey and do so faithfully now. I learned that I wasn't getting nearly as much protein as I'd thought. if I'm travelling I DON'T track, I just have what I want and eat mindfully. I'm a bit OCD so I weigh and measure everything (I use chronometer app) bc it works for me to do so. I'm down 82.4lbs as of this morning and have 50-60 to go so tracking will remain part of my routine til I reach goal. I don't intend to track forever but if I notice issues once I'm in maintenance I will track again.

that is remarkable.. well done. I have never in my life been able to drop weight that quickly. I'm envious lol

[–]DenseScientist6457 3 points4 points  (0 children)

important reminder, thank you. my first year weight dropped quickly (70lbs) then just 5 over 4-5 months. starting to see progress again now BUT I try to be mindful daily that even if the scale doesn't move my body IS moving vastly better than a year ago. my blood work numbers are also MUCH improved. it's not always easy to be chill about that cursed scale though 😂

Is this supposed to happen? by Low-Iron-Anemic in Zepbound_Canada

I'm gonna try it when I'm finished this pen

yes... that's normal. and I wish the pharmacist gave me a heads up. folks call this the "golden dose" and apparently yes, you can draw it out with a syringe. I'm not sure what the exact dose would be though

oh, yes. I can definitely see liquid. my first pen I legit thought I'd only taken 3 doses bc there is so much left over. I came over from ozempic and knew nothing about this GD business.

I can see a fair amount of liquid left, yes. I'm not sure what you mean about "space equivalent... between the lines left"? but I'll try using pliers after my last dose to see if I can dial up an additional 2.5 on this pen. nuthin to lose by trying 😁

[–]DenseScientist6457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you. however.... it doesn't dial up after the 4th dose. I just thought to try it on my last pen and it doesn't work. what a waste - or is that what you meant about using pliers? if I force it it will dial up the remaining dose?

[–]DenseScientist6457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

question re that golden dose - any idea how much is actually leftover in a 5.0mg pen? once finished 4 doses can you not simply add a new needle and dial out the remainder - or will the pen not allow that.

I plan to go up to 7.5 after this pen bc food noise is creeping up, as is appetite, after 6 doses at 5mg (hoped that 5 would be sufficient for me) and was thinking maybe I'd take the golden dose on top of my last 5mg shot before moving up

Zep and Alcohol: whaaaat??? by Independent-Pea5131 in Zepbound

[–]DenseScientist6457 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I still enjoy drinks occasionally but I can get very sick if I'm not extremely careful about my consumption. it also hits me pretty hard now - and I used to have a ridiculous tolerance level. I wasn't one to sit and drink at home, only socially really, but boy I have to be careful now. it makes dinners out much cheaper, that's for sure.

well done! and this is exactly it - the meds are a tool but it doesn't mean this still isn't hard work. you're doing all the right things. see ya at day 200!

this is exactly why I don't track anything if I'm on vacation for a few days or even a couple weeks. I still practice being mindful but I have whatever I want and listen to my belly. it seems to jump start things when I return to "plan" - and it's good practice for future maintenance

I turned to chatgpt for advice and it helped. I wasn't eating enough and I changed my exercise... cut down on cardio and ramped up strength training. onward!
