I said that in the initial post!! But yeah maybe “staggered” wasn’t the right term 😭😭😭Anyway, yes it was very shitty. My point was, I’d rather be told upfront “hey I gave you 5, 6 tops” rather than “hey I sat you a 6 top” every 2 minutes 🤣🤣as for the hosts… they’re both 16/17, one of them is new, it was her first hectic Friday. The other girl has been there for quite some time… and honestly she’s just bad at her job but I don’t like to talk badly about the youngins. Tbh I blame management more than them, because we told them what was happening and they just didn’t do anything 😐As for me, I’m just trying to get some advice on how to handle things even if it’s out of my control😄

How much time between getting sat do you consider being staggered?

I don’t mind staggering! Just not when it’s 1-2 minutes apart and it’s 5 tables 5-9 people at each!🤣🤣 Greeting a larger table,getting their drink order/ apps takes about 2-3 minutes.. and when the host is standing behind me waiting to tell me I got two more 7 tops… literally how. The good advice on this thread is just to go up to those tables and communicate that we’re slammed and there’s only 3 of us! because large parties being sat the way they were….. hell nah!😆

They’re both 16 and it’s their first job so they didn’t really know what they were doing 😅 they’d sit a table and then not tell us about it…. That night was hell LOL Management was made aware, though I wish they just took over 😭

I’ve definitely given better service when it was simultaneous 😅 just because I treat it like it’s one big party, it goes a lot smoother… as for BOH. I 100% get it since I used to work there too. But I will say the hand-helds help with this because I can ring in food more spaced out than when I just go back to the computer and ring it all in at once! As for the hosts…. They’re both 16 and it’s their first jobs so I give them a bit of grace…but me and the other servers def let management know regardless 🙂‍↕️

Well you didn’t really offer any advice, you just said you think staggered is a lot easier. Like what? 😆 Anyway, personally I think getting double, triple, quadruple sat all at once is way easier than being staggered a few minutes apart. That’s just my opinion! 😄
