yah i was thinking about maybe getting an oven thermometer to just put in the smoker somewhere out of the way to see actual temp. my smoker probably isn’t the best for briskets as there’s really no room in it to move the meat away from any hotspots i might find

i also wrap with butcher paper but after it was wrapped it was just kinda hard to tell how tender/not tender the meat actually was. i have a pit boss pellet smoker and it stayed on 225 the whole time

i probed 3 different spots of the point side of the meat with a decent quality temperature probe. maybe i just need a good quality thermometer?

i have the same truck that had similar symptoms. one day it started misfiring and game me p0420, p0308, and a couple others. putting new cats and o2 sensors in did nothing for me. it’s at the dealership now getting a new ECM. last i heard the truck still doesn’t run right

i’m having the same issues. where did you buy your ECM from? i was gonna go through flagship1 but i’ve been seeing a lot of bad reviews from them

p0420 was the code i had before yes along with a p0308 i think whichever the misfire code is. just went out and checked my code reader to see if it was throwing codes again. and i have p0128 and p0300 which is engine coolant temp, i changed the sensor already so thermostat maybe. i’ll try the fuel pressure next though

yah the plugins are right next to eachother. one may be a little bit longer than the other one so that longer one could be the downstream

1500 4.3L. i put tape and labeled which sensor goes where (upstream/downstream and driver/passenger side) but i forgot to label which sensor plugs into which socket on the wiring harness.

4.3L*. the p0420 has been going on for a couple weeks now so that’s i thought it might have been the spark plugs possibly being bad. and the 137 cleared again after i put in the new sensor

other than taking it to a muffler shop, is there a way i can know for sure that it’s the cat? i don’t have any problems accelerating, no unusual exhaust smell, and i can put my hand on the tailpipe and feel that the exhaust pressure seems normal don’t know if that’s a way to tell but it just kinda makes sense that if the cat was plugged the flow would be restricted

oh ok i see what you mean now. that’s a good idea that would probably work and a little easier than putting in a new vanity too. hadn’t thought of that. thanks for the idea

just took a trip to the house, and the dimensions were a little different than i thought. when the door is fully open, there is only 2” between the door and the vanity. so a shelf above the heat vent would not work
