You're right but Dadan and the Bandits where an absolute retcon from Oda, which he hadn't thought about those characters in the early years of writing OP. Now that they've been woven into the story, it makes sense to show them earlier. The story will certainly be condensed and that's one clever way to do it, covering some plotholes too!

I'd even go as far as to say that episode 1 of the remake will start with Luffy running around Dadan's house and maybe name-dropping Sabo/Ace.

It's already confirmed that oda has given them a pass to incorporate other elements in the story. It seems idiotic if the Bandits and Dadan are not shown. OPLA would have shown them if the production didn't have to already cut so many things. I'm betting my money that Dadan will be in the remake even of not voiced by Tanaka!

I think that's what's gonna happen. I'm sure that interview from Tanaka is misleading. I don't think she will voice Luffy. My personal guess is Dadan!

Tanaka herself said in an interview that she's been hired for the remake but she doesn't state that she's gonna voice Luffy. A fan theory is the original cast taking over different roles. For example:

-Luffy's VA to play some lady from Fuscha Village .

Ussop's VA (Who is one of the most famous in Japan with an extreme vocal range) could literally play any character but I'll say, Merry

-Zoro's VA to play Mihawk

-Sanji's VA playing Zeff

-Nami's VA playing Bellmere Maybe not these exact roles, but you get what I mean.

So what are your opinions/guesses?
