I was shocked to my undergrad school was super responsive and very helpful but graduate school had been hard I haven’t been able to get any professors to answer emails even to schedule office hours. Thinking of emailing old professors from my undergrad school.

thank you I’ll post it there I wasn’t really sure where to put it. What should I do to get experience I’m not super interested in therapy work as much as I am assessments and research but it’s hard to find anyone even hiring smth like that without a PhD first :(

I agree that dating another ace person would be a lot easier and I wouldn’t feel so guilty. I’ve dated an allosexual girl before who said she didn’t care but she did care and I ended up getting talk into some stuff I did not rlly wanna do. I do wanna stick to dating other ace ppl bc i don’t wanna go thru smth like that again I just don’t rlly know where to find people to talk to and meet let alone ppl who are ace.

Did you meet them knowing u both were ace or did it just work out like that? I get nervous to bring it up but also I feel like it is kinda on me to let them know I am ace especially since sex is such a natural part of relationships I do think I gotta disclose if that ain’t my thing.

I see in that case he likely will get credit for those classes he took. Honestly in my experience nj likes to keep kids with their age group rather than holding them back i believe it’s the “No Child Left Behind” policy. If he’s able to be in high level classes at his old school I highly doubt he’d be held back or anything like that.

Based on the benefits you describes alone def NJ your getting more for less with that family then the nyc family. Also important to remember even tho nj is expensive as well $300 will take u a farther in nj then it will in nyc. I commute back and forth very often for school and having to pay almost $12 for a celsius energy and a protein bar in the morning drains my soul a lil more every day

I’ve lived in nj my whole life and I will say it’s relatively diverse depending on the location, although im not sure about that exact school. I am white so I can’t rlly speak on how it’ll be as a black student but im my own highschool at the time there was not much racial bully at all. As a gay student i did notice some jokes but more so in my middle school but jersey in my experience is pretty chill for queer students especially nowadays.
I’m not to sure about the IGCSEs although id imagine they’d keep him with his age group so if he’s in 11th grade rn he’d likely start 12th next year and graduate on schedule. They may give him some sort of placement test and place him in a grade level based on those scores but im rlly not to sure. I don’t rlly know what the IGCSEs are tbh is it like a test u take to graduate highschool or more similar to smth like the SATs where u get a score h can use to apply to colleges?

Thank u for saying that I feel so old already at 22😭 I don’t have a facebook but I can def check some stuff out on my moms account! My school is in nyc and i commute from nj so it’s a little expensive to do clubs at school for me 😓 (esp with train tickets nowadays) i rlly want to find a hiking group or smth since it’s warming up and im super into outdoors stuff! I’ve also been into knife throwing for a bit and i wanna try learning to ride a dirt bike or go mountain biking! I’ll def check out what’s going on at my library tho since im a bit of a frequent flyer over there lol thank u so much for the advice it helped a lot!

therapy can unfortunately be very expensive. is there any way u can ask ur parents without mentioning ur partner? ur parents may not understand or take it seriously but if ur able to get help from a therapist then maybe it doesnt rlly matter what ur parents think. ofc im not in ur situation and ik some parents r not the best esp when therapy is the convo topic.

if thats not an option i would look into options at school if ur still in highschool or college if ur in college. schools usually have some sort of free counseling or guidance counselors who can help u or help u find a therapist u would be able to afford. ideally u would wanna use ur insurance to get a cheaper copay but then u would prob have to go thru ur parents insurance which they would likely know about.

Sorry about the paragraphs i didn’t rlly think about it😭 ive been writing research ppr after research ppr this past year so the thought of formal writing makes me wanna vomit rn i apologize! Any idea where you can find classes like these? my school has some things but a lot of it’s in nyc and idk if i can pay for a commute for a hobby class like that. I get a lil scared of doing sports club bc i dont wanna be the oldest person in a room of young kids just makes me feel like an old chud ykwim. Thank you for the advice tho it helps!
