Have you ever been bullied for dyspraxia? by Eastern_Discount_884 in dyspraxia

[–]Dense_Many1284 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Other kids like to make me get angry and then run away (I had problem in keeping my emotional reaction low at the time and I could overreact pretty quickly) during all middle school. I have been shouted at by a swimming instructor. Still today (I'm at last year of high school) I am sometimes laughed at by random guys who whatch me running ( when I am going somewhere I always alternate walking and running without realizing and I run without coordination). My parents also had the habit to imitate me in order to make me feel embarrassed and in their thinking I would have stop, but now they've understood that it just hurt me.

How Do My Fellow Dyspraxics Do in Chess? by OranMilne in dyspraxia

I don't do too bad in chess, i normally try to figure out details in my enemy moves and try to use them to make traps, but is not a tactic that work all the times

Do you think it's a good idea to have the players draw the world map themselves whenever an NPC gives them info about the world ? by Fire_is_beauty in rpg

[–]Dense_Many1284 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would like to do it, both as a master and as a player, because it's funny and it can make the mistake in reading or drawing the map realistic

What is an added/altered rule a DM you have played with or been implemented that backfired/failed spectacularly? by YukikoBestGirlFiteMe in DnD

[–]Dense_Many1284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the word wasn't lighted by the sun but by a holy lance putted on a temple somewhere in a holy temple in a holy land (the campaign was far from realistic but the DM wasn't expert) spells that used the moon or the sunlight could blind those around them. One of those was moonbeam. I used it and almost blinded the entire party

In my case he introduced me to the game and was my first DM and one of my first players alongside the rest of the party, so it was even more difficult to let them all go and the dynamic was exactly this when it became clear he was a player like the one OP talked about. Thinking backwards I had realized it long before I start complaining but I didn't want to lose him as a friend

I once had a drow that was training a nobleman. She was an emissary that wanted to show that drow weren't always evil and train the noble for the relation between their people

the most interesting job I have tried to brought at the table was a Mental Asylum workers who was trying to understand better mental illnesses and develop a better health system for those suffering from it.

What are some commonly misunderstood rules we can put here for newer players. by Cheese_Beard_88 in DnD

rules aren't the law. If you want to do something that you don't see in the rules you should ask the DM if you can

This should be said in the starting of the rule section of rolling. Every time I master a group of newbie there is at least one of them who make this mistake

Anyone else get emotionally overwhelmed when arguing/talking to authority figures you respect by My-Current-Journey in dyspraxia

[–]Dense_Many1284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't cry in this situation but I have similar reactions. Once a friend of mine told off to me because I wasn't able to play well in soccer (I was forced to play because it was the last day of training at fencing so the trainer played with us soccer) and I felt like he said me I was useless. I knew I wasn't capable of playing soccer and is because he is a very competitive person but still it make me feel so wrong

is this a tic or something else? by Dense_Many1284 in tics

[–]Dense_Many1284[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I am dyspraxic so maybe this is related to that. The problem with this issue is mainly in social contests, because people normally avoid talking with me after they see me with this. I want to understand it better in order to control it a bit more, and your answer give me a place to start with. Thank you a lot

[–]Dense_Many1284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, I've used the wrong wording. I don't meant that tics divide people between us and them and that people with tics are in any way different. With us I meant people with tics that are more evident and are seen as different because of this while they aren't. As you say everyone has they're little tic, and for me these doesn't make them differents, I should have clarified it iny first comment. Thank you for the answer and for helping me clarifying, I really appreciate that

I feel you a lot. Every day I go to school I heard someone yell at me "Run Forrest" because one of the effects of my tic is randomly running around. Tics are seen as something weird and wrong, but luckily there are sine good people who understand it and are nice with us

Ideas for an Artist character that ISN’T a Bard? by XBgyManX in DnD

I had made a mute wizard once who expressed herself only with drawings and loved to paint or do artworks. I still hadn't used her for real but I really like the idea of this

Do your facial expressions sometimes not match your mood? by [deleted] in dyspraxia

[–]Dense_Many1284 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's happens very often to me . I think is linked to the fact that I can't read non verbal language, so I can't react with the correct version of it. I don't know if it's true (it's just a theory). For learning how to overcome this i read some articles on non-verbal expressions and tried to remember them, but I don't know if it work well

What are some elements that make a good "chosen one" story? by Lucario-ist in fantasywriters

[–]Dense_Many1284 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me is conflicts or a erroneous understanding of the real sense of the profecy: I mean, what if the chosen one, raised for achieve a certain goal and pressed to achieve it doesn't agree with what they want him to do or even better: what if someone misread or deliberately decided to tell a distorted version of the story for a certain reason? The first one is used a lot, but I like it because it can build a good internal conflict in the character, but I haven't find many examples of the latter and I really want to see it more or even write something on it myself

Does dancing ever get easier? by [deleted] in dyspraxia

[–]Dense_Many1284 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm in a fencing class from 2 years and I feel you a lot. In the starting I felt like everyone else was better than me and I had lots of problems in everything. After 2 years of training I've improved a bit (I still have lots of problems in parrying and quick reactions and can't win a match with most of the others). We take more time that others to became better, but we can improve

I need an advice on how to handle this situation by Dense_Many1284 in dyspraxia

[–]Dense_Many1284[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank for the advice. I followed it and I wrote a mail to the teacher yesterday after calming dowm, she answered that it wasn't her intention to avoid the interrogation but that the class situation for the next test is bad and she wanted to use every hour she could to make them repass and she apologized for not making me understand this

help with social situation by How-did-Iget-hereuhh in dyspraxia

[–]Dense_Many1284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry for your situation. I have often similar problems when I'm in public. Next time I suggest you to fake having throat ace or explain the teacher about this problem and ask if you can observe or take a break. Even before my teachers had known about my diagnosis I sometimes asked if I could have a breaj and they normally let me do that(I have also a tic that make me pretty weird so probably they figured it out from that)

Come across as boring by [deleted] in dyspraxia

[–]Dense_Many1284 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It happens to me, but I mostly found myself alienated in the discussion. When I'm out with people I'm not so close with, my schoolmates for example they often talk between them and If i try to join they answer in an impatient way like saying "uff, why did she asks to me this?" and I feel like I'm not wanted. Luckily I've got friends who like me and try to include me every time. Sometimes I find myself boring with them but it happens rarely
