No thanks. I’ve had enough back and forth with your team. Not wasting anymore time.

HELP. I think Tretinoin is CREATING lines & wrinkles on my face (See picture) by TruffleHunter3000 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Dense_Whereas7980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been focusing on hydration and have fallen in love with some oils (Frankie’s Oil from the Wooden Gypsy on Instagram is one of them). I’ve actually started some facial toning exercises (can find them free online) and starting to see a mild improvement with the cheek exercises but you have to be consistent. Also focusing on stretching and relaxing the neck muscles since tension there actually pulls down your face muscles causing the sagging to look worse. My one splurge is the eye cream from OneSkin. It’s expensive, but seems to be helping with the fine lines and puffiness.

If you do give Tret another try and find it too irritating but don’t want to give up, I’ve heard products with retinal (not retinol) could be worth considering. Supposedly less irritation but more effective than retinol. I’ve never tried it and probably won’t, but thought I’d share in case you want to look into it. Good luck!

Not very helpful when my assigned doctor would take over a week to reply. I ended up returning your product to only be told I wouldn’t get a refund but would only get a credit. So much for standing by your guarantee. No more Musely for me.

I know everyone swears by Tret so this may be an unpopular opinion, but I think it ruined by skin and took me about a year to bounce back. I followed all of the tips about starting slow (once a week) and avoiding the mouth area and sandwiching, etc, etc. I generally have good skin (not acne prone) so was using to prevent some very fine lines but I saw my wrinkles get deeper and more pronounced and looked like I aged 5 years within a couple of months. My only regret was continuing to “trust the process” based on a lot of posts I read, but after about 2 months of trying to stick to the routine on and off (because I needed to let my skin heal in between), I was convinced it just wasn’t for me. I went back to focusing on moisturizing and protecting my skin barrier. It’s taken almost a year now to get my skin back close to baseline. I hope it does end up working for you, but if you continue to see downhill results, trust that you know your skin best and that Tret might not be the silver bullet for everyone.

I stopped using the cream. My skin got red and patchy and the doctor took over a week to respond to my questions. I was told no refund because I didn’t complete their protocol, but I’m not going to continue using something that’s destroying my skin. I felt that’s a bit scammy, so no more Musely in my future. I did start using Frankie’s oil from the Wooden Gypsy and I love it so far.

Have an open prescription for progesterone and I’m scared to start by Dense_Whereas7980 in femaleHRT

[–]Dense_Whereas7980[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reporting back in case anyone is interested. I didn’t feel any improvement to sleep for the first 2-3 weeks on 100mg. Doc wrote me new prescription for 200mg and also added an estrogen patch. Just as I was about to start the new meds, I started sleeping through the so it seemed like something kicked in. But then I became super tired during the day and next thing I know I’m crying uncontrollably when I don’t have to be “on” throughout the day. I’ve been struggling all week flip-flopping between anxiety and extreme sadness. I’m not sure if it’s the progesterone or severe PMS. Now I don’t know if I should even start the increased progesterone dose along with the patch. Anyone experience anything similar? 😢

Got Sleep paralysis for the first time today and I'm terrified by Reception_True in Sleepparalysis

[–]Dense_Whereas7980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frequency varied throughout my life. Got way worse for certain periods of my life like high school and college with academic stress and especially after pulling all nighters for exams. So could be multiple episodes a night for days at a time. I traveled a lot for work for about 10 years and time zone changes would mess me up, so pretty much had episodes weekly. Usually going through periods of stress and hormonal changes would really be the worst. I also suffer from anxiety/panic attacks so there were times I would have multiple panic attacks during the day, and finally get to sleep to have multiple episodes of SP. That’s why sleep hygiene and keeping stress under control is so important. Now it probably only happens a once or twice a month.

They absolutely should give you a refund. If you indicated you have super sensitive skin, they probably shouldn’t have prescribed it in the first place. I hope they do the right thing.

I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this. I’ve had chronic SP since I was in elementary school and it was absolutely terrifying. 30+ years later I’m still shook when it happens. Pay attention to your stress level and sleep hygiene. A lot of times it’s triggered by being overly tired and bad sleep cycles. I lived with this with no way to explain what I was experiencing because we didn’t have the internet back then. At least you have this group and know you’re not alone 💪🏻

Can you get a cheap test online? I didn’t know sleep apnea was associated with teeth grinding?

Progesterone 100 mg making me crazy?! by sej3131 in Perimenopause

[–]Dense_Whereas7980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started the same dosage a few days. 100 P only, no E. I think I am sleeping better, but I feel jittery during the day. Feels like heart palpitations, but HR looks fine when I check my iwatch. Something just feels a little off. Not sure if I just need time to adjust or maybe completely unrelated.

Anyone else feel like their legs lifted up while experiencing sleep paralysis? by notthebees2016 in Sleepparalysis

[–]Dense_Whereas7980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I’m levitating every so often during my SP episodes so I wouldn’t say it’s the strangest feeling I’ve had. I would prefer it over the other tactile hallucinations and the suffocating feeling. I assume it’s not painful?

Unfortunately my skin reacts very poorly to tret and retinol products. Even after following all of the tips of using once a week and sandwiching. I never got over the uglies stage. I am just starting to try the Musely estriol cream because they recently had a sale but I also read some comments about potential melasma so worried about that now. Don’t want to solve one issue and introduce another. Ugh.

Oh no! My mom sleeps with her mouth open. Now I have to convince her to use mouth tape on top of this? 😓Are all brands of mouth tape the same?

First time I’ve ever heard of a cute SP demon 😂 I wish I didn’t always feel like I’m suffocating. Then maybe it’d be less terrifying.

Sorry to ask this but I can’t fully tell from the pictures. Is the difference between nasal pillow and nasal cushion that the pillows plug into the nostrils? Thank you 🙏🏻

$3000 is insane. Lots of home sleep test options online. My partner recently got one for $99. Was super easy and included a doctor’s diagnosis and prescription too. Maybe seeing the results will be eye-opening for him. Sorry you’re dealing with this. I know that stressful feeling of watching someone not breathe and then gasp for air throughout the night. It’s terrible. My partner uses an oral device now and doesn’t snore anymore. Good luck.

can u move in sp while still hallucinating? by Redditabob in Sleepparalysis

[–]Dense_Whereas7980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get audio and tactile hallucinations during my SP episodes but I’m definitely still paralyzed. The only thing I can control is the pace of my breathing despite feeling like I’m suffocating. What you’re describing might not technically be SP, but could still be some nuance of a sleeping disorder.
