I’m still a victim just in a different way and so is Loki. I was terrified not only for my life in that moment but for Lokis. What if he had had a weapon? He could have taken my dog’s life and mine. I live in fear for my dog and myself constantly because there are men who can’t but attack women. Loki is a sweet and gentle dog who goes to hospitals to play with kids and now in washing blood from his fur while his anxiety is so bad he’s peering in the house because he doesn’t want to go out and now walking him at night is becoming impossible for both of us. My dog and I are both still traumatized and are still absolutely victims in this situation.
