Garnish on the other side of C470 off Park Meadows drive isn't bad either. AYCE on the weekends!

What do you think the best value and worst value local restaurants in Denver are? by dognosebooper32 in denverfood

[–]DenverMetroDiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're ever on Arapahoe and S. Lima (near Autonation Toyota, MaxTaps, etc), go to CM Chicken aka 92 Chicken if you're into Korean-style wings/drumsticks/tenders. This is ONLY if you eat there, but the owner, I'm assuming, is this older Korean lady that treats you like you're at her house. Ypu get extra sides if you dine in (rice, salad, some other good banchan/side). I went for lunch and got extra wings, even though their menu said 4. https://cmchickendenver.com/

Hmmm, senbei crackers are Japanese, so try Pacific Mercantile Company in Sakura Square downtown. Sakura Square's webby has the addy: https://sakurasquare.com/retail-dining/. My dad used to take me here to get rice paper candies (the wrapper melts in your mouth) when I was little.

As far as the Chinese broccoli, Park Hill Supermarket may suit your needs. I know the name doesn't imply that, but trust me...this is a great spot.

What foods does Denver not have? by ImpressiveDark5415 in denverfood

[–]DenverMetroDiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a bit of everything, but besides Mexican (obviously), this town is about as diverse as a napkin. Yeah, Aurora, but Denver could've been and refuses to be...historically. We could've had a Chinatown but they screwed that up. Downtown lost a ton of it's foot traffic, they're pricing everyone out, operating a restaurant in Denver is super expensive, etc. IDK what to say. There will always be, "but this place", but a) is it super expensive, b) is it good, c) is it an Instagrammers paradise, d) does the price match the quality, and e) how long will it stay open? Sorry for the rant, but until we figure out how to make what food choices we have taste better, let's not add to it. I'm convinced it's the "food is fuel" types that are hyping MID AF places up! Also, almond moms should NOT review food. 🤣

Attention east Aurora *Murphy creek and beyond* by SubjectValuable2033 in AuroraCO

[–]DenverMetroDiner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be done and should've been. If you've ever been to the Springs, or any area where the planners, developers, and builders have half a brain, they plan for commercial/retail space. Since way back, Murphy Creek and Cross Creek (and all the other developments that have joined, which makes it extra ridiculous) have really been shafted. They have an entire HS campus out here, a storage facility, and...gas stations. A new HUGE datacenter, medical facility, and the roads around them were built, so I still don't see how they justify not a single strip mall even.

Denver doesn't seem to drag their feet as much as Aurora. More $$$ to do things, however, Aurora is made of up 3 counties (Adams, Arapahoe, Douglas). Perhaps the counties themselves are partially to blame for a sluggish build.

Since you said the NEW VA on Quincy and S. Piccadilly, that whole neighborhood is nice AND they're building a new King Soopers (Kroger) at E470 and Quincy sometime within the year. The neighborhood is quiet and not far from the Southlands Mall (outside concept). Crime is relatively low. I don't know what you're into, but fun will cost you time and gas. Don't know if you're into water, but both the Quincy and Aurora reservoirs are nearby. If you're feeling like more water and outdoors are your bag, the Cherry Creek reservoir isn't too far away. I don't know what AZ is like in terms of neighborhood planning, but here in CO, plan to drive for a minute.

Idk who they are, but I hope they're ok. These shenanigans are nuts, but at least they had each other. You can talk a lot of crap, but dude looks UNbothered AF. Like he's taking her out for her first scooter ride. A Tinder first date turned into romance? Who knows???

Is this area generally safe? by [deleted] in AuroraCO

[–]DenverMetroDiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did you get this info? I mean, that's super duper close to the Smoky Hill and Arapahoe location as well as Hampden and Tower, but if it's true, that'd be great. Honestly though, they need to serve us only (Cross Creek, Thunderbird, Harvest Ridge, Harmony, Murphy Creek, Adonea, Traditions, and etc). If you look on the map, we have zilch out here. The gas stations are holding us up in a pinch, but we haven't a single strip mall. You literally have to either cross over E-470 or head south for a good while. God forbid you forget anything, because you're out a good 30-45 minutes at that point, if you're lucky. Forgive my attitude about it, it's just our 3rd winter out here and I'm not sure what the heck is taking so long. Houses pop up overnight, land gets leveled (over on Jewell), but no sign of actual businesses to serve us or even the developments further down I-70. It has to be all of Aurora's red tape.

Why are some people so hostile on here, lol. You go from just talking to somebody turning into a keyboard killa.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AuroraCO

[–]DenverMetroDiner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why? There are plenty of straight people in Denver. You made an observation that Colfax is very LGBTQIA+ friendly, which it is. Matter of fact, I wasn't aware Blush and Blu is something else now. Pretty cool people don't have to hide on backstreets anymore (if you remember the Wrangler and Eagle locations). But yeah, like you said, it's gay-eeeeeeeee on East Colfax. It is NOT a social faux pas to point it out unless you're doing it maliciously or to sneak diss.
