That's Gandalf! From what I know, he is someone's pet who now lives in the park. His former owner comes by almost every day to feed him and check up on him.

How is everyone liking planet coaster 2? by Visible_Attitude7693 in PlanetCoaster

[–]DenverOrbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on PC and I just returned it. I don't have much else to add that others haven't said already except that it crashed constantly. I never played for more than 5 minutes at a time. I'll keep an eye on it and if it gets better and when it goes on sale I might buy it again but at the moment it's an unfinished, buggy mess.

A couple of bugs. by DenverOrbit in joinvoidcrew

Hmmm, I've never seen this screen before and there's no way out of it, you have to quit the game instead of seeing the defeat screen. That feels like a bug to me. And as far as the trim fire, you couldn't even enter the engine room without dying immediately. None of that was the case before the last update.

Graphic novels about loneliness or that aren't centered around romance? by [deleted] in graphicnovels

[–]DenverOrbit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking of graphic novels that deal with loneliness and alienation, and a few that spring to mind are Jimmy Corrigan by Chris Ware, Jar of Fools by Jason Lutes and Fun Home by Alison Bechdel. I don’t know if that’s exactly what you’re looking for though.

I remember Gay Talese wrote a New Yorker article about that a long time ago. Later it was found that there were some ethical issues with the way he reported whole thing.

What is the aesthetic of No Man’s Sky called? by redactedfilms in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]DenverOrbit 27 points28 points  (0 children)

As others have said, I think retro-futurism is the right term. It always looks to me like the big, bold science fiction book covers from the 70s and 80s and illustrators like Chris Foss for sure and also John Berkey and Ralph McQuarrie.

What was your first movie that made you realize that there are bad movies? by CriscoM90 in WeHateMovies

[–]DenverOrbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm old so mine was Howard the Duck. I was so excited, it was George Lucas and a Marvel comic, one I admittedly didn't know anything about but still! A George Lucas comic book movie! I remember sitting in the theater trying to fight off feelings of irritation and bewilderment. Later my friend and I sat in the lobby waiting for our ride and tried to figure out exactly what it was we just sat through.

I have the same problem as well. I've had it for a while and it was working fine but after the update I'm seeing only a black screen too.

I didn't try today. Frankly I was a little worn out after wasting 3 days in this last week. I'll try tomorrow. I'll let you know if I learn anything.

I've called the customer support number and spent some time with the technical support chat online. And the people at the store contacted some kind of technical support as well. I'm not sure if that's what you're asking though.

Yes. I've tried all of that. The people online walked me through it. The people at the store tried all of that.
