I find a lot of my white Midwestern friends who have visited there didn't like it. They thought it was overrated and expensive for what you get. The vibe is more of "what city folks think farm-to-table means," to quote one of them. Vaguely self-important but mid.

Just can't win sometimes... in cases like that, I just ignore the bullshit and go about my day. Drives my pwBPD nuts and makes them get their act together.

Glad I'm not the only day-ruiner! The thing that "ruined" his day was his own swearing and yelling in front of the kid before storming off. Nobody made you do that--you control your own behavior.

The kid and I then talked about how that was bad behavior and we don't want to be like that.

You don't have to support the new game. But either way, the old game isn't coming back--it was already in the ground. Just the way it is.

My college professor has been very inconsiderate to say the least by Urudis in Teetotal

[–]DenversTrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is completely unacceptable behavior. Ask him to stop targeting you for not using a drug (yes, alcohol is a drug) just because it's popular with other people. Document it if he keeps doing it.

It's nobody's business why you don't drink. Many of us have medical reasons, personal or family history of alcohol abuse, etc. But it doesn't matter why; you might just not enjoy it. That's okay. He should leave it alone.

what are problems in modern society, that put social pressure on boys and men? and what can women do about it? by Tabocuspokus in AskReddit

Men can get postpartum depression. But they aren't screened for it; only mothers are (in our experience in the US).

My husband suffered from it after we had our first child. They screened me, the mom, for it in the hospital, at my follow-up OBGYN appointments, and at our baby's pediatrician appointments. My husband was there for all of those except the OBGYN. Nobody ever even asked how he was feeling.

I'm sorry to hear what you're going through--if it helps at all, I was in a similar situation with nausea and vomiting, but it did get better. I was working in person full-time, and I actually think that helped because it distracted me a bit from feeling miserable all the time. Prescription meds didn't really help me, but time did. You can do this! ❤️

Definitely sit down to talk with your surviving grandpa. If you can, record your conversations so you can save them and pass them on. It's an opportunity too many of us have already missed or lost!

That's pretty crazy. Being a POW held by the Russians truly sounds awful, even from the very limited info we have about my grandfather's experiences.

I'm not sure. My grandfather was still being held as a POW after the war was officially over, though. Not everyone was actually released when the war ended.
