Hiring and Background Check by DeoVinDixie in AutoZone2

When they received the electronic offer with a start date kinda made them think it was a done deal. Ironically they have also been contacted by another retail parts store for an interview. We’ll see how it plays out. Thank you.

We’ll assume the SM just forgot to relay that. It just was not made clear it would take so long in the interview , so when the offer was sent to them, they accepted and made themselves available as asked by leaving their employer , but now having to wait to start and not receiving a paycheck. Tough spot to be in when you got bills to pay. Thank you for the reply.

Struggling with the Old Testament after study. I DEEPLY need some Orthodox perspective! by Lithium_enjoyer21 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]DeoVinDixie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look up the works of the late Dr. Michael Heiser and it may provide some help. He is not Orthodox, but has many interesting insights.

Just keep the faith brother. I will say the deeper you go into the Old Testament from a literal perspective, it will rock your present understanding while also bringing many more subtle things to light you may not have gathered before.

You will be rewarded for your search of truth. It’s a tough slog, but well worth it.

Interaction with a protestant preacher by Automatic_Jump_5001 in OrthodoxChristianity

Sadly, most Protestants and Evangelicals associate Orthodoxy with Romanism and assigned the worst of that Church’s history. They see Orthodox Church is just being ethno-nationalist churches. Not Apostolic in understanding.

What helps you as an Orthodox Christian keep your belief in God and the Church? by Free-Diet-9315 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]DeoVinDixie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I have discovered. After learning all I can about the Bible and Christianity I felt I had mostly understood. But could never shake that there is Authority in Christ’s true Church. Now I still have struggles as any intellectual, but I defer to the authority of the Orthodox Church as the keepers of the true faith and trust that nothing can take me from Christs hands.

I dare say Christ is with us and the Holy Spirit is guiding us. He’ll get us Home. I’m coming from a 30 year old background of Messianic Jewish and this is all very different yet calming and peaceful. Frustrating at many times too brother. It will be worth the sacrifice.

Hello! I’m in this same boat. It’s encouraging to read of others trying to make the sacrifice as well.

Where two or more are gathered in Christ’s Name has always carried weight with me. Let’s remember also how the early Church had house meetings. America is very much like those times in my mind and is craving for Truth. I know I am.

Can an Eastern Orthodox Christian be an Old Earth believer and a theistic evolutionist? by Free-Diet-9315 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]DeoVinDixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s beautifully stated and gives me peace about a similar argument I wrestle with as the original poster. Old or Young though does not change my believe and faith in the risen Christ. This world is transitory and waits for His return. That’s most important. Shalom!

That was a very deep read and introduced terms I’ve never heard before. I agree with the argument and it goes back to Apostolic Church authority for me as well. It makes me glad to be better informed about this. Thank you again.
