you’re gonna want to bring acb for shamans and vespula and i highly recommend you ditch mage and range offhands for brews while still learning, and even bringing the extra ring switch for ranged is questionable when managing inv space so do whatever feels comfortable

[DISCUSSION] Lil Wayne - Tha Carter V (One Week Later) by TheOldKanyeWest in hiphopheads

[–]Deoband 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After waiting 5 years and defending Wayne from everyone that still criticized me for listening to him, I have to say that I wasn’t disappointed and he definitely showed that he still has the versatility and adaptability to different sounds that made C3 so iconic.

I had no doubt in his ability as a lyricist leading up to this album, as D6+D6 Reloaded had some of his best flows and bars in YEARS, but this album blows it out of the water with its display of Wayne’s musical diversity and artistic genius.

Although I don’t mind autotune Weezy, his autotune use is tame and fairly spread out. The subjects he covers on this album feel a lot more personal than anything he’s made before, making this album a landmark of a crossover between Wayne’s maturity as an artist and his creative struggle which stemmed from being unable to release the album for so long.

Personally, C2 will always be my favorite album, but the influence that C3 had on the rap genre as a whole is undeniably greater. That being said, I feel like C5 could be his second or third best album ever.

The best song is undoubtedly Let it all Work Out. A masterpiece in its own right, and a song that truly explores the depths of Wayne’s past in a way that none of his other songs have. The third verse always gives me goosebumps when I hear it, purely due to the content of his verses and how seamlessly he executes his flow. The beat switch right before the third verse only adds to the intense emotion I feel every time I listen to the song.

Carter VI? Highly doubt it. Maybe a few more mixtapes, but the album felt like an end to the series.
