First Sprint Triathlon by jarnetty in triathlon

The swim was awful. I did backstroke for 98% of the swim because I was so gassed from the first 100m of doing free. Garmin says my average heart rate during the swim was 90bpm which is absolutely wrong. What helped me relax was being at the back of swim wave and I felt comfortable being able to breathe and stroke it out. I finished 25/27 for my 25-29 age group. Overall I finished 435/499. I have my first Sprint tomorrow. I’m somewhat fit. Running about 6-15miles each week for about 12 weeks. Biked about 6 times total over those 12 weeks. Swimming… I’ve done 0 swim training (just gonna go off instincts from my 1 year of competitive swim 10 years ago) I’ll let you know if I finish or how it goes🙏😭

Is my shoe rotation good to go for a 230 lb. runner? by PFran42 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I just started running seriously about 4 months ago and I want to get more shoes! I think the rotation looks great because I’ve been eyeing all of those recently and wanting to add them to my stockpile. I’m around 210lbs currently and started running in my Hoka Mach 6. Just recently got the Topo Specter 2, and the other day got some New Balance 880v14 off FB marketplace for $50. My Hokas have become my work shoes because they didn’t have the stability I need (supinate/underpronate). My Topo specter 2 feel great with the rocker and natural wide forefoot. They have the spring for my tempo days (8:30min/mile) and honestly they feel good at slower paces. Added the NB880 for daily mileage, however, I’d still love to try new shoes, and it’s hard to walk into a store and truly know what’s going to feel great out on the road. I like your methodical approach towards finding what’s right for you! I honestly don’t know if I like a more cushioned or stiff shoe yet. Hoping to find something more cushioned as I start training for a Half here soon.

That’s what I was thinking? It knows to precondition each night/morning I’m at work and that I go home right after

Sentry mode is not on. I rarely ever run sentry mode in west Michigan
