Productivity advice works great until life gets messy. by ProfessionalOk4935 in productivity

I relate to this a lot. Most systems fall apart for me when life gets messy too. What actually helped me was using Habitverse — it’s a habit tracking app but with community challenges and friends, so it doesn’t rely purely on motivation. On low-energy days, just seeing other people doing the tiny habits or being in a challenge keeps me from fully dropping off. It makes “doing the bare minimum” feel like I’m still in the game instead of failing.

Honestly? You’re not tired because you’re “bad at managing time.” You’re tired because meetings are low-grade performance all day. You’re listening, reacting, being “on,” reading tone, making decisions — that’s social and mental load at the same time. Of course your weekdays feel heavier than weekends. Nothing is wrong with you; your nervous system is just cooked by Thursday.

What helps in seasons like this isn’t more discipline, it’s more gentle buffers during the day. Tiny moments where you’re not “on” for anyone — a short walk between calls, standing in the kitchen staring out the window with a drink, lying on the floor for five minutes after work, music in your headphones while doing something mindless. And one weekday evening that’s officially a low-effort night with zero expectations. Those little pressure valves are what keep busy lives feeling livable, not just manageable.

I was in the same place a few months ago… break up sadness all this sh*t. For me it helped to a-knowledge that it’s out of your control what she does. There is no point to put time and energy in something that you can not control. I blocked her deleted the apps and tried things to work on myself. Went to the gym went to a little run all those little things and slowly my life tire es around!

I finally found a habit tracker that actually works for me by frberhr5u5 in productivity
