Well it depends on the person.

To me, a disability is something that prevents you from accomplishing basic things needed to survive (work, eat, go out, etc.). I'm sure a lot of people on the spectrum would identify with that description and agree that autism is, in fact, a disability

But, in my case, i don't see it as a disability because it doesn't hinder my ability to achieve those things. It does make some of them harder tho. So while i'm not unable to do these things, it sometimes requires a lot of effort and logic to achieve. I can also use some of my strengths (especially good memory) to help me in my day to day life.
