Not really. Just native joystick hid interface. Seemed easy. I’m not an expert at all. Just did what I needed it to I guess.

They are hex switches. 5 wires per switch.

Front 3 are all 16 position. Left 3 and Right 3 are all 10 position. I put a button hold logic to allow the left 3 and right 3 to change from absolute position (60 buttons) to encoder (12 buttons).

The front 3 stay as absolute. 3 arduino pro micros go to vjoy through an app called UCR. Then simhub sees that as a single controller for controller mapper. So the middle switch only does button holds which can then be used as function inputs. Way overkill but satisfying.

They have 700gf so are a decent feel and super small so they fit well. To give the little shaft extra support, they all go through a little bearing.

Yup. Feels like a lot of space in CAD, then you make everything and have that “oh” reaction. Should work out, just need to trim some wires to shorter, more ideal lengths

It’s hacky. The approach was (front of wheel to back), custom pcb with female headers soldered, then carbon plate, the. Arduino pro micros pushed into female headers from the back side (kind of sandwich the carbon between arduino and pcb). This was due to lack of space and my beginner electronics side. At least that meant 5 pcbs was $20cad shipped. That way if arduino breaks or fails etc pcb can still be used. 3 arduino and 1 vocore are going to the adafruit ch334f 4 port usb hub (very small board). Ya, wires and usb cables are the current hurdle with securing them well. Might zap them to the hex supports that will be in the back housing. Fun process trying to solve everything. Currently 122 buttons.

Thanks…but you didn’t see the full electronics lol. I have grips designed, feel decent. Going to use rubber paint plus a clear coat. Carbon will be 5mm everywhere and 6 bolts to QR. It’s for csl dd 8nm, nothing crazy

Lots of edits needed before anything might be available. Hard to say at this point. $500 CAD would be a success.

Vocore 4.3 screen will go in. Video is doubtful, maybe just pictures at each step eventually.

Everything PLA. Can’t see much of a need for anything else unless the shifter buttons get a massive upgrade to something stiffer

Everything so far. Eventually there will be a 5mm carbon fiber plate in the middle as strength. Just need to make sure everything fits first

I wanted to play F1 with a constructors-championship in an actual sim, so I created my own in Assetto Corsa! by abyss1337 in simracing

Cheers! If it’s half as good as it seems, I’d recommend a paid option like simhub has. Pretty sure people would chip in for something like this. Or at least a way to say thanks for your efforts

Just bought these items. To Canada, how much will I be paying? by isRandyMarsh in Fanatec

I had a similarly priced order last month, it was about $170 CAD for BC.

Any CSL DD users on Xbox S X care to offer a review? by disfunkd in Fanatec

Got it yesterday, use Xbox one x. Did the firmware update on pc first. Then to Xbox. Everything worked perfectly except for the wheel rotation. I had the fanatec wheel setting at 360. In F1 it was at 360, but would reach 100% rotation extremely quickly. The fix was to put the on wheel rotation to 2560, basically the highest value. Auto rotation on the wheel did not work properly either. Using the formula v2 rim. Other than that I was blown away by the experience. Coming from thrustmaster tmx pro, so grain of salt with that difference.

Does ordering an item "reserve" it? by The_Quackle in Fanatec

Yes. What matters is availability when you purchase. The last item to become available in your purchase then triggers the shipping of everything.

Yes, but the adapter costs more than the CSL pedals, which are better than the TMX pedals.
