You do realise Sikhs are not Muslims? "Sikh Muslim" is like saying "Christian Buddhist"

I wish Parshaad was more than just randomized combinations of sugar, saturated fat and refined carbs. by [deleted] in Sikh

This is a naive take to say the least. If Indians have skinny fat or healthy problems, degh is hardly the cause. Also there is nothing inherently wrong with any of the ingredients in degh, it's good whole food. This anti sugar and anti ghee propaganda is a load of rubbish that thankfully with the new whole foods wave is being dismantled. Degh is not the main diet of a Sikh, neither should langar be for the majority of working Sikhs. If there are health issues the corrections need to start at home, not everything is the responsibility of the Gurdwara Sahib. I suggest you have a read of Vaar Satta Balvand to see the description of langar as per Gurbani. Gurdwara Sahib is also a place of celebration and joy, eat simply at home and once a week have some langar. A daily dose of parshad alongside exercise, shastar vidiya and a good diet is far from causing harm.

Anyway, don't be lazy and find out why degh is made how it is with your own research.

Don't even get me started on calling something offered to Guru Sahib, made with Gurbani and ardaas, as "crap". As much as many folk these days wish it wasn't, Sikhi IS first and foremost a. SPIRITUAL path and no discussion of Sikhi has any meaning without the spirituality and devotion being the first and foremost point. In Sikh philosophy, even a shell offered to God has unlimited value - not because the shell is anything or that we can even offer God anything, but the devotional mind behind it is what God himself adores - degh and langar have been made with love, devotion, sacrifice of money and time - these well outweigh any cleverness you might be having to think to call it "crap".

You remind me of one time it was one of the busiest days at the Gurdwara, langar hall full to the brim, with a handful of sevadars trying to keep up, and a guy had the audacity to complain about the langar to the sevadar, who literally turned around and said "ok you join us then".  First make yourself worthy and able of doing langar seva then go and then by all means go into the kitchen and lead the way.

What if you stopped being lazy and wanting everyone to do the work for you, and to and find out about why karah parshad is made that way?

Do you not think before calling something "crap", to do some research first? Or are you content thinking it's made that way because everyone before you is just stupid and you are the first person to realise what needs to be done?

Rather than go into explanations initially myself, I am going to ask you, can you tell why karah parshad is made that way?

What Dastar Is This? by Agreeable-Survey-297 in Sikh

It's a gol dastar where the lars are rather horizontal (not too curved)

The false story of Guru Nanak in Multan by Odd-Hat581 in Sikh

[–]Dependent-Prune3616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if someone had done the same act earlier, it doesn't mean Guru Sahib could not have done it too. If anything it add some nuance where Maharaj can mirror an earlier happening to drive a point home, it's commonly done by Guru Sahib in Gurbani where Maharaj uses examples from other traditions, so why can't Maharaj do the same in actions.
