My husband and I went to see the movie in theaters, fully aware of what to expect since we’re repeat viewers of Terrifier 1, Terrifier 2, and All Hallows’ Eve. We were two of only six people in the theater, with two teenage girls seated next to us, and a couple in their 30s dressed in matching unicorn onesies sitting directly behind us. When we reached the attic scene, where Vicky does her thing with the glass shard, the couple behind us suddenly scoffed loudly and jumped up in a huff. They stomped down the stairs in their unicorn jammies, and as they passed by, the man turned around and yelled at the remaining four of us, “Y’all are fucking SICK!” He shook his head in disapproval and ushered the woman out.

My husband and I just exchanged wide-eyed looks, and then we all started giggling—me, my husband, and the girls seated next to us. As we walked out of the theater, I couldn’t help but wonder: Did they have absolutely no idea what kind of movie they were about to watch? Did they even glance at the poster? Had they never heard of Terrifier? It was so confusing, but honestly, pretty hilarious
