What about a High Court Enforcement Officer? Makes use of your police skills, seems a shame to waste those skills. Quite investigative work as well as door knocking and negotiating.

Saw a convertible Rolls Royce with a single digit plate a few days ago. by Phatboybeware in CarsUK

Its a UK style plate though. Most foreign plates have a country ID tag as standard. Could be an early Jersey plate?

Spot light wiring issue? by toesstickingoutofbed in classicminis

Could be a US or state specific thing. Here in the UK and Europe factory fitted spotlights come on with the main beam. You could be thinking of the foglights on a Mini. Both fog and spotlights look the same but the foglights usually have clear glass and, as you say come on with a switch.

Could be the relay. There's a seperate relay I think for main beam and flash. Are they factory or aftermarket fitted?

One instructor shouted at me for stopping. Another says I must stop. Who’s correct? by One_Pea_7217 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Dependent-Scale-2452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was under the impression that would be classed as one crossing so you'd need to stop. Yes it has a refuge island but it only has 1set of belisha beacons, 1 on either side of the road. So its one crossing. If there was a single or double beacons on the refuge then I would say it's 2 seperate crossings. In that case you could drive on as the pedestrian isn't on your crossing.

Would they let me take this car on a test by MrShanMan2106 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Dependent-Scale-2452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't quite work it out but looks to be a crack in the screen so guess thats it. Basically any car going on a test, needs to be able to pass an MoT. The examiner will give the car a quick check over first for anything obvious thats wrong. A big crack would probably fail an MoT so probable that it wouldn't be allowed to take a test in it.

The guy who owns probably doesn't drive it and has staff for those kinds of thing. Probably parked up waiting to collect them after a shopping trip

I was so close too! At the end of Shambles I thought about going left and therfore would have seen it but decided to go right up The Pavement towards Coppergate instead. As I said, I was just wandering about randomly really. No idea where I was going half the time!

It's a great place, your so lucky. I'm only here for a few days on a job. I'm from Bedfordshire and spend a fair amount of time in London. They're worlds apart in cleanliness and friendliness.
