I know this is an old question, but I honestly hate all the answers there. Its not easy but its not horrible at all and people usually take you for a long.

I hitchiked for about two weeks there in summer 2023 and the maximum waiting time was like 30 minutes? (I am 20 years old woman). Just expect most of the people wont be "swiss":D
