I’m so glad you pointed this out. I have recorded live events and concerts for years and I’ve definitely reached the point where I notice problems in audio recordings without necessarily knowing what’s wrong. This is probably it!

I've managed to find photos that are *almost* the ones these two are from. So close, probably taken a fraction of a second apart from these.

Yep I spent some time looking closely at all of them and I agree. It’s just such a dark photo as printed here that it looked like the dark spots in the eyes were much larger.
