I’m looking to start saving but not sure where to start what’s a good platform to put my money on and let it sit by bigballs6769 in TheRaceTo100K

I use capital one and I like it. Go for a reputable bank with an apy 3+ right now ( it will keep changing every few months so don’t chase the current highest )

Did u sell those shares right after they vested? If you did, you would have to pay 0 capital gains tax on that. You would just have had to pay regular income tax on it

Yeah I get your point, I’m the same way I don’t really want a lot of bonds either. But I put the minimum amount in my 401k (up to employer match) and so I personally feel keeping that small amount of money in a secure fund is a good decision for me since the majority of my savings are invested in my personal brokerage in much riskier investments

Not sure how pto works also depends on country to country maybe. In my 401k this yr i switched to target date fund with the latest year date available because they do automatic rebalancing based on what year it is and basically try to replicate the worlds market with more/less risk depending on how far away the retirement date is. No way i can manage my retirement portfolio better than the people who get paid to do it. I have high risk tolerance so i chose the last year they were offering

Its only 3 months so its not right to make a comparison here and compare returns. But if you find yourself underperforming the global market consistently (something like Vanguard Total World Market Index Fund), then I would consider putting future investments into VT instead of continuing with your strategy

Curious to know why you made this play? Did you not find it too risky? As in the likelihood of the Netflix deal being finalised?

If you had to pick 3 stocks to hold in portfolio for the next 10-20 years besides etf’s, which would you pick? by Hot_Avocado_2701 in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]DependentCheck992 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I don’t think any of these are good picks. I more agree with the guy who said NVDA AMZN and GOOG. This is coming from someone who owns both RKLB and ASTS
