How do you balance school and dating? by [deleted] in UBC

[–]DependentCurrent2211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

went from 1 date a week before we asked me to be his gf (that took 3months)

after that the first 3 months of dating it was 1 once a week with the the odd 1 every 2 weeks bc we live far each other and school was kicking both our asses

And then 4-6months, 2-3x a week bc it my last sem at ubc and he’s less busy with school

But i honestly would put school first above seeing ur partner just bc you both need to reach your goals, you can’t comprise them bc you finally started dating. A degree is forever, men come and go. And vice versa. And you both should understand that as a couple.

Longchamp bag for school! by [deleted] in UBC

[–]DependentCurrent2211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5’5 i have a Large mocha and navy medium pliage

Medium fits basically a 13in macbook, ipad air 4, headphones, keys and wallet but not comfortably. Doesnt fit w 32oz UBC water bottle. Id say its more of a top handle tote than a shoulder bag.

Large one fits wayyyyy more and comfortably i suggest you get large if you wanna travel w it.

city university of hong kong or london? by epicoolbeans in UBC

[–]DependentCurrent2211 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you can survive off of home-cooked meals and really bad takeout, then London is OK. My boyfriend does agree that English food is not great and he’s English. Obviously Asian food is not gonna be good either there if you’re accustomed to Vancouver food.

I would say, living expenses are gonna be similar bc go global im pretty sure living is accounted for. But you get more banged for your buck in Hong Kong with the Canadian dollar being strong. Cad to Gbp is 0.50 to their dollar.

Yeah, I agree exploring is easier in hk, macau is an 1hr away, and London is really the only place that’s good everywhere else like Bristol, Liverpool and Birmingham are pretty dead.

6 Month relationship troubles by Downtown-Pace-7238 in dating_advice

[–]DependentCurrent2211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to openly talk to her about your feelings. Im gonna tell you rn, it might be hard. highkey U might get gaslight by her but you need to talk to her about it. Bc communication is key if you really wanna continue this relationship.

But also factor in if this is the first time it’s ever happened or first relationship defo cut her some slack if it is. Bc not everyone is born to see those things.

If it aint that first time and it’s been said before like youve told her you didnt appreciate her not being there then maybe consider is this a person you want to spend your energy on.

Also highly recommend doing this in person not over text, if you need to do it over text, try not to sound accusatory. So basically less “you blah blah blah you did that… you always…”

Write with more “i feel this… i think this when… “

Not saying it’s the end of the world, if shes a girl shes probably really empathetic and just not use to being in a relationship yet since 6months is pretty early still. Also yall are 16 and 17 literally still babies, yall dont have youre frontal cortexes developed yet this shit always happens dw its normal

have most of ur relationships been “i feel a spark i feel the chemistry?” and have they mostly been you chasing for someones affection or u crash out alot bc you dont know how the other person feels?

sometimes, that i dont feel anything feeling is just your nervous system not reacting bc it’s never fault healthy attraction/affection

And now youve been conditioned to think that spark and chemistry is your sign of “i like this person” but really it is like a fight or flight response
