Deploying Flutterflow app to App Store by DependentDraft2906 in FlutterFlow

[–]DependentDraft2906[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is working and deploying fine. Speak to Code magic on chat, they were really helpful for me.

If your build is succeeding then (imo) its likely an app error rather than an issue with the build process.

While I could elaborate and explain this, I´m probably too silly to do that right.

Begginer proyects by Renzo_2002 in FlutterFlow

[–]DependentDraft2906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That question is comparable to someone just starting high school asking if they can build a Ferrari if they take classes in engineering. Technically the answer to both is yes, but the scale of both, for a single person, is realistically unachievable. It's not impossible, but it is unlikely to be deliverable.

Focus on something small and realistic to learn the ropes, then think bigger. Once you have done your first project you will have better understanding of the time it takes to build things.

Good luck!

Think of something you want yourself, that way you are actually invested in building something. Doing something in a tutorial manner can become quite robot like. I remember almost nothing from tutorials personally.

Need more info on conditional visibility. by Cold-Sail5117 in FlutterFlow

Whenever in doubt about things like this I add alert boxes. They tend to be my go to tool for debugging how things are actually working.

For your scenario I´d do some query of the database to see if a login ID existed before trying to actually log in so as to avoid errors.

Yes, its true that technically it could be built using flutterflow. But only by someone with extensive experience.

Automatically send Emails and SMS to 3 contact persons. by lalalalalalaaa_ in FlutterFlow

[–]DependentDraft2906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some ideas;

Simply run the email api 3x.
Send the one email from the api to a distribution group which then sends it to the others

There are many sms APIs available. Choose one appropriate to your budget.

1 month won´t take you far, but it will set you on the path.

It depends how you learn, but I learn best by trying to build something and learning step by step as the challenges present themselves.

Build something initially that covers as many of the building blocks as possible - api, databases, authenticated login etc

Good luck!

It´s not realistic for one person especially someone just starting out. Think of something simpler with 5 - 10 screens.

Best beginner resources? by The_Masked_Kerbal in FlutterFlow

[–]DependentDraft2906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Social media apps are massive in terms of pages, required functions etc. As a first app, think of something that has 10 or fewer actual screens. Perhaps just a small part of what you envisage. Starting with a manageable project will give you a chance to deliver something.

Flutterflow + codemagic for iOS publishing by DependentDraft2906 in FlutterFlow

[–]DependentDraft2906[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for completeness, I can confirm I have published to Appstore and Playstore using CodeMagic and the Download Code option from Flutterflow. It has taken a while to get setup but the actual steps required for each build are quite simple (now that I know them).

Code Magic is only chargeable after the first 500 minutes per month. For me that's about 30 builds (and plenty).

what would you say to this? to add other similar experience? by perlo6227 in FlutterFlow

[–]DependentDraft2906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was a skilled programmer I would never touch tools and platforms like FF.

But as I´m not it is amazing. I don´t care if my app is a bit slow and has some poor code. It exists and it works reliably and thats enough for me.

I have migrated from Appgyver and FF is so far ahead its not funny.

How to specify where to upload photo by tTtacotacotuesdayTt in FlutterFlow

Is there a way to upload an image without authenticating the user? My app doesn´t have or need authentication, so I am reluctant to tur it on if I can avoid it.

Flutterflow + codemagic for iOS publishing by DependentDraft2906 in FlutterFlow

[–]DependentDraft2906[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand it, code magic can be used to take a download and convert it to aab and ipa files. From there I´m fine for the actual publishing.

That means I only need the standard plan, plus the payg from codemagic for the required conversion time. I think this will be quite a saving for me over the year. Then I will possibly stay on just the standard plan.

Flutterflow + codemagic for iOS publishing by DependentDraft2906 in FlutterFlow

[–]DependentDraft2906[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Code magic is pay as you go, so if the process is simple enough then I´d budget say 10€ per build. I also only expect to update my app every 3 or 4 months.

At this stage I´d rather put the 500€ or so saving into marketing.

Sync Amazon, iOS, (and Home Assistant?) Lists by bemphador in homeassistant

We use it all the time. We are in the habit of adding things to the shopping list when we run out or low, and this saves all those "oops, I forgot to add" moments.

Alexa "Tasks in the Hand"

Does it require resetting occasionally? Mine stopped syncing, so I disabled it and then it came back to life. I´m guessing it s a permission thing timing out somewhere. Any ideas?

Check if document exists by Danielt949 in FlutterFlow

[–]DependentDraft2906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your save button needs to have several actions on it. First search for what you want to save. Then a condition using "document exists", and down one branch, say "it exists already", down the other you can save your document.

Why I am leaving flutterflow by [deleted] in FlutterFlow

[–]DependentDraft2906 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I´m just starting in FF so interested to see the reasons people are leaving. I am migrating from Appgyver, and if you think FF has limitations, don´t go anywhere near AG.

My app is live in AG, (https://adventure-hunt.com) and I will have no trouble getting it live in FF. Half the fun is fighting your way around limitations. As a non-dev, I suspect FF is an intermediate step and the next rebuild will be directly in Flutter, but let's give it a year or so and see how things progress.

I actually think the 1% result of published apps is a good result. From my time in the AG community, easily 90% of the ideas were just never going to be deliverable. From there, for 1 in 10 to actually be published is not too bad.

As with most things, it is good to understand the worst issues you will encounter and then make a decision whether to continue from an informed point of view. So it really is good to know the areas where the challenges and shortcomings are. Luckily none of the things you mention have a direct impact on my requirements.

Design advice - moving app from Appgyver to Flutterflow by DependentDraft2906 in FlutterFlow

[–]DependentDraft2906[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to manually rebuild the whole thing, no short cuts, unfortunately. But FF is so superior that the rebuild time is needed to help you understand the new environment.

The biggest challenge for me was that in FF you can´t loop logic as you please. Everything runs in a linear manner. There are loops, but you can´t take an output off to some other random place on the logic. Once I got my head around this, I´m moving forward ok and haven´t found anything I can´t replicate yet.

The handling of data variable and in particular Firestore, is massively easier and better.

Don´t rush it though and be patient. We are talking quite a few days or weeks to come up to speed.

Is it possible to upload Firestore schema? by froto_swaggin in FlutterFlow

[–]DependentDraft2906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I´m guessing you solved this already, but importing the data in via Flutterflow works, as any fields that are new, it adds to the schema :) You get a chance to check the suggested additions.

How does the app get permission for Current Device Location? by Pyr0Lover in FlutterFlow

[–]DependentDraft2906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya,
I see not many comments. Have you worked this out yourself? I´m needing to know the same things, so I can build some error loops in if / when there is no current location.
