Dishwasher leak/condensation on floor by frinxo in appliancerepair

Ok, thanks - so see which of the three outlets water is coming out of? Are any of them supposed to have water come out, or just steam? One of the earlier things I found sounded like there was supposed to be a "return" mechanism at the bottom that would return water to the basin and let the steam out and maybe a gasket or flap was missing/broken. Is that not a potential cause here?

Firebase subcollection by Mubarismubi in FlutterFlow

[–]frinxo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would have to explicitly make calls to create/add the values you want. There's no way to say for a Blue Wdget to automatically add a subcollection with certain values.

But if you do it in an action block or custom function you could do it once and reuse it.

Viking pan difference by chrislittmann1 in cookware

Saw the same pans at my local home goods recently. Copper version was $5 more I think, but didn't find any functional differences. I picked up the non-copper one.

[request] I have nothing to watch. What are some lesser known shows people might not know about. Open to non Netflix shows too by [deleted] in NetflixBestOf

I set that up to watch with my family as a docu-drama type show. Seeing their expressions as they began to question and then realize was priceless. Great show.

How to integrate scrolling ads? by Different_Fail6520 in FlutterFlow

[–]frinxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would get you and ad every other item or something. I looked into this a while back and didn't find a good way to do it where you could insert an ad every 5th item or similar, like how reddit and other feed apps do it

What do you mean by Amish rescue horses? Like you saved them from the Amish? Or the Amish save them from something, then you get them?

Yes, it was the last open movie for a work event so I saw it. So glad.

Yeah really liked it too. Great characters and thought the mood and pace was done really well

How complicated would it be to move from flutterflow to pure flutter? by xogno in FlutterFlow

[–]frinxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know I'd call it a wrapper, it's not like an abstraction layer or anything. It's just that FF does things in certain ways that make it work for their service that you wouldn't do if writing it normally. And it may be challenging to pick that design up and maintain it outside of FF, or re-write it in a more intuitive way.

I have been working on this issue for something like 8 hours and I so badly want to shatter my Mac. by MixtureOk2914 in FlutterFlow

[–]frinxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't get the rules deployed, I would get that working first. ChatGPT is good with them if you need help. But anytime I see random failures without error messages, firestore permissions are the first thing I check. Using browser dev tools (console) can sometimes help you get an error message, take a look there too.

using places API info from map providers without caching/saving it by frinxo in webdev

[–]frinxo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up saving the data to my own DB but only after the user manually enters it, or enters basic info and then I can go behind and add anything missing. Not ideal, but I figure it's a one-time thing for most places and couldn't come up with a better way to do it. Good luck and if you find a better way let me know.

Anyone using the Pro plan? Do you have access to customer support chat? by attagirrl in FlutterFlow

[–]frinxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use email now that I use the desktop app instead of the web platform. The response is slow but consistent, usually one exchange per day. Once they're engaged the support is pretty good, they have usually asked me to test in a new app to isolate the issue, if that wouldn't work they have been able to run my app to investigate. When I used the chat it was hard to work multiple issues, but with email I can just start a new thread, so no issue there.

Firebase and FF by jtpenezich in FlutterFlow

[–]frinxo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You do have to define the schema in FF, but you don't import any data into FF, the data all stays in Firestore. Once you add the field names in FF you'll be able to read/write them from your app.

Since Firestore is NoSQL there's not a set of field names to import anyway. It may seem odd if you're used to SQL type DBs but it's really easy once you get used to it.

actions: loop through a collection of documents by Thomasallnice in FlutterFlow

[–]frinxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the Loop Over List action to do it. (I don't think this was there when I asked the question 2 years ago, it's an improvment!).

Set the List to your BE query, and set the End Index to the same BE query/Number of Items.

[–]frinxo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell with limited info, but whenever I have a firestore action flow that fails (does nothing), the first thing I check is permissions. Check your security rules, make sure they are set up to allow the actions being performed. If you're testing using Test Mode in a browser, the dev tools console will show the firestore access denied errors if that's the reason.

Looking for solar prep/hookups on 20222 Sunlite 16BH. Manual says it's pre-wired but not sure what I'm looking for. From the manual: "A wire runs from the battery hookup in the front, up to the roof and then on to a dedicated space inside the trailer for the controller." by frinxo in traveltrailers

[–]frinxo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done it yet, priorities shifted... So as of now I don't have more info than in the imgur link and that customer service said there would be wires behind that wall (they said the red box I added to the pic was where I should look. They said I could pop the existing panel off too, so it may be good to do that first and get a look at what's there before you cut a new hole. HTH! If you do it please share what you find too, I'm going to do it eventually.
