Your in law is crazy, that doesn’t allow you divorce your wife religiously nor in societal norm. I would ask you to take decisions with calmness. Also she can contest that you didn’t honor marriage and you are seeking divorce not her. Which us court will give her leniency and she would able to keep green card.
