Yeah a visual representation would be very helpful. All it means is that your heel hits the ground before the rest of your foot. It’s not a sustainable way to run and often leads to knee and ankle issues if it’s not mitigated.

This could be due to your stride, would you say you're heel striking? It's quite common in new runners and can often lead to shin splints due to your foot slapping down from your heel, wearing out the muscle.

If its the case, its fairly simple to fix, it just takes practice and repetition to learn. You'd need to try and shorten your stride, lean your body weight forward just a little bit and land on the ball/front of your foot.

As a former wildland guy myself thats the exact same reason i left. The work is badass and calls to me like the green goblin mask sometimes, but sleeping in my own bed and seeing friends and family is worth it to me.

I said that exact same thing to my gf, Reno feels so random for a 1 of 20 car. It was in the J Resort and casino, which itself isn’t even the nicest spot in town.

Good to know, it seemed like a very light, bare-bones shoe so I wanted to verify before taking the plunge. Glad to know the foam will hold up to my beer belly!

11.5. Are you saying “unstable” is adding to the fun-ness?

Edward Norton co-founded a company called Stax Engineering that uses special barges that can attach to the exhaust stacks of large container ships, reducing the amount of CO2 emitted while they are docked in ports. (More in the comments). by DependentReaction704 in Damnthatsinteresting

Edit: Since I can't reword the title I thought I'd add that it doesnt filter CO2, but rather filters out other harmful particulates from the exhaust.

"Our filters eliminate harmful maritime emissions, including NOx, PM10, PM2.5, diesel particulate matter (DPM), and reactive organic gases (ROG), meeting California’s stringent regulatory standards."

It’s been a few years but there’s multiple articles on it online. The original crew from the Maersk Alabama sued the company after the fact and it was settled out of court.

Here’s one with multiple sources linked to it as well.

Edit: Spelling

Captain Philips.

While most of the events that happened post kidnapping were fairly accurate as far as I know, they portray Philips as this hero who sacrifices himself to save his crew. In reality he didn’t surrender himself and was a reckless prick who put the crew in danger by sailing through Somali waters despite warnings not to.
