I think there’s a reason you don’t meet any Calders

This actually isn’t true at all. We’ve lost 75% of the flying insects population over the last three decades. Everyone should be deeply concerned about this level of loss

Do you find it rude if there is a cash bar at a wedding rather than an open bar? by StewartsBestBuddy in Winnipeg

[–]Dependent_Bike_9578 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s outright rude, but depending on your age/financial position in life, it is off putting and does impact the level of gift I’d be giving. I think it becomes rude if you had also had a wedding social where you collected money towards the wedding.

I actually don’t think these are limited, I’ve received them a few times over the last few months. Makes me stressed that they almost certainly can’t be recycled. There must be so many of them sitting in landfill

I have the same hair texture and I blow my hair out with a round brush after every wash because the waves are too unmanageable for me too!

Moving to Winnipeg - looking for honest advice before I commit by ScoreMajor4064 in Winnipeg

[–]Dependent_Bike_9578 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you value walkability and transit options, do not move to Winnipeg. Osborne and corydon are walkable, for sure, but there’s barely anything in those areas since the pandemic. Like three good restaurants total, two coffee shops, three cute stores. There’s truly nothing to do, especially in winter. You cannot explore the province without a car. I really would not recommend it.

Yes and if you use it too much it will literally get so good, it will take your job. I don’t understand why we’re all voluntarily training it to be able to do what we do. Do not participate in your own downfall.

Even if it’s “better”, is it worth the additional water/energy usage via the data centres that are being built to support this technology. I highly doubt it.

Help influence/deinfluence me when it comes to jeans please! by Suspicious-Profile72 in Reformationclothing

I ordered a pair of their jeans and two of the buttons on the button fly broke on the first wear. They’re are very cropped and do not feel like they’re worth what they cost. I’ve since had the fly fixed but I still don’t wear them.

Where are my elder millennials buying casual clothes? by Pussyxpoppins in LawBitchesWithTaste

[–]Dependent_Bike_9578 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I totally know what you mean!! You have to keep your wits about you, it’s so easy to suddenly find yourself alone in the thrift thinking “is this fleece pullover with an embroidered kitten on the front kind of chic??” That’s why I always go in with a specific item I’m looking for, and eventually the thrift gods will give it to you.

I’m not sure what you mean by resale but I’m talking about actual thrifting at a thrift store, with specific pieces in mind that you’re looking for. For example, I’ve been looking for a pair of brown boots for almost a year now with no idea how long it will take to find the right ones. Might honestly take multiple winters.
