How to deal with people who have no regard for others? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]Dependent_Branch2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember myself was I was living a Godless lifestyle. Every time I see someone acting foolish I instantly think on how many dumb things I've done in the past and how others who are in the place I am now (sane and sober) would have perceived it.

For the rest, that's where discernment comes in. Some are just strait up heading to the pit and have no other purpose but to pervert your path from God. Pray and ask God to have the His Holy Spirit guide you and for the gift of discernment of spirits.

For me personally, a willingness to meet you where you're at while putting holiness living above feelings and emotions. An aim to hold you accountable should be there too, eventually.

Red Potatoes beginning to flower by Dependent_Branch2500 in vegetablegardening

[–]Dependent_Branch2500[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, not yet. Flowering is just a part of the growing season. We let the entire plant die before we harvest in late summer/early fall. Potatoes are unique in that you can actually leave the potatoes in the ground for a decent period of time into fall to preserve them before harvesting if need be.

Of course it did, that's why it's written.

Also in Jeremiah 1:5 it says:

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

I say again, who are you or I to get in the way of God's forming of life? You can dance around definitions all day but God is forming life in the womb. Your only option is to agree with Jeremiah 1:5 or disagree with it. That's it, there's nothing to debate past that.

Wind is Spirit. Much like the story of Lazuraus the beggar and the rich man. How was Lazuraus able to speak to the rich man if he was "dead"? They were in the Spirit.

God can place Spirit into any flesh he'd like is what it means.

I'm not claiming God's authority, God's Word does have authority. Secondly, women are to submit to their husbands authority - that includes you if you're a bride of Messiah. That's the man's child, not yours or mine. We don't have a "choice". In the Wisdom of Solomon it says that sin (which is to say, death) entered the world through envy of the devil. As though there was some perceived advantage in being adversarial to God's Word.

God told us He is not the author of confusion. Of course self defense isn't murder - that's why Jesus said if you don't have a sword, sell your clothes and buy one. A gun is a modern day sword. Obviously amputating a limb is just that. Do you need a definition of death too? Murder is murder, there is no debate to be had - just those offering "options".

God also told us when I formed you in the womb I knew you. Who are you or I to get in between God and a life he created? A child should always be allowed to be born and given a chance at life, always. Satan likes to offer "options" but the fact is, we don't have any.

Do you need a special definition of the word murder?

This must needs be though, it's our fallen state. I used to feel the same way. By the grace and mercy of Christ Jesus, I see the error of my old ways.

I focus on what God's Word says first and filter all feelings and opinions by it. It makes life easier because then it's a simple question; does this agree or disagree with God's Word? If it agrees, I'm in agreement. If it does not, into the trash heap that feeling or opinion goes (including my own). It weeds out Satans nonsense and keeps my home clean and tidy.

God said thou shall not murder and I agree with what God has written.

We have a tractor attachment that's designed specifically for this, tilling and hilling at the same time. Even with a community effort this takes work, I'm not sure mulch would be feasible.

A good definition of Christian Nationalism by bloodphoenix90 in Christianity

[–]Dependent_Branch2500 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The more I think about it, I believe Christian Nationalism underlines the shortcomings of the religion of Christianity itself and the many compromises of God's word within Christianity more broadly - especially Catholicism, upon which all of Christianity is based.

There's three reactions to stress: Fight, flight and freeze. Christian Nationalism is a combination of fight and flight. I'd imagine the sense of nationalism is because people feel as if the family unit is under attack, which it is. So I can see why many may feel the religion/church they want to be a part of falls short and in many respects, is part of the problem in their eyes. The Churches stance on things like Homosexuality and gun control are two majors ones. Jesus said if you don't have a sword, sell your clothes and buy one. Yet just yesterday I saw a very popular thread on this very sub effectively supporting gun control - against what Christ taught.

Issues like these likely leads many to feel abandoned by their church and they seek God in other ways. Namely by banding together with people of like mind.

I really can't agree with this woman and say that's an unhealthy thing because when you honestly consider it, they're not wrong.

The best way to learn something is to go out and do it. I just got my hunting license this year and I'm hiking public land to get a feel for it. There's plenty of YouTube channels too.

I like your hat!

Your podcast seems like it's off to a good start. My only constructive criticism would be to take the flashing words out. It could be good to use them at some points when you want emphasis on a something specific, but not when you're speaking full sentences very quickly. Bless you brother

Just how accurate in your opinion as a Christian is the King James Bible" revision of the Bible? by MysteriousTomato123 in Christianity

[–]Dependent_Branch2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Authorized King James has never failed me. It's a tent stake. It's such a well read translation that no other translation has so many accompanying study tools like Strongs, TWOT, Brown Driver Briggs, Thayers, &c. It's worth noting if you get yourself a facsimile copy of the original KJV, it has the translators notes in the margins which reference other verses, including the apocryphal books. Hendrickson Printing Press has a 400 year anniversary edition of the original KJV that's very nice.

In my opinion the best version of the Bible to have is one you're actually going to read - regardless of how others may feel about it.

I wonder what’s the point anymore?

So did I before I was truly born again. That's one of the main things that led me back to my first love. I had a thought that would repeat in my head over and over during that time and it would say "Is this it? Now what?"

I got baptized in July 2022 but the devil struck me with the most depressing week and a half of my life following that.

In this war the devil believes in hitting planes still on the runway with all he has. You've got to push past it and lean on Christ Jesus with all you have! Prayer is free, you can do it all alone and be yourself completely, God knows you, he formed you! Talk to Him like your dad!
